I moved into this apartment complex last year and I should have known better. Prior to my moving in, I asked a current tenant if she would do it again if given the chance and she said no. The price and location got me. The second day I moved in, my apartment flooded. When they came to fix it they left the huge machine that picked up the water in the middle of my bedroom for almost two weeks despite me calling for them to come pick it up. Did I mention that within the first two weeks of being there they had to come and re-wire all my electrical outlets because when you plug in something, the cord simply falls out of the wall.
I have roaches really really bad. I have never had roaches prior to moving to this place. I also have the joys of other bugs, little worms, silverfish and anything else. The walls are paper thin. I hear my neighbors talking, doing laundry, listening to music, and walking ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!!!! It would seem they are wearing steel bottomed shoes. I hated this place after the first week of living here.
As if this was not bad enough, I told them when I moved in that personalizing the apartment was important because I had just sold my home. I was told by Andrea, who works on the weekends that I could paint and when I leave they would give me the paint to re-paint. I was so excited. I painted and now that it is time to move they are telling me that that is not true. When I told management what happened they simply said, "Andrea has been here longer than all of us, she knows the policy!" This makes me believe she is calling me a liar.
The carpet has to be the cheapest carpet ever. It stains beyond belief. Im sure this is a ploy to exploit more money as well.
I am the easiest person in the world to please but these people are unbelievable!!! I have never lived in this type of place yet if you are late on your rent even by one day they want to charge you market rate rent, which is like a $400 penalty.
DONT MOVE HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry that you are a member of the majority of the people that hate it at Broadstone. We've learned our lesson with THOSE people in the office.. new staff and old... get it in writing!!! They have selective amnesia. Thats how my husband and I got screwed. With the high turn over its also best to get it in writing for sure!! Good luck with everything.. and someone suggest BBB on these people.. it may help your case!

I was also told by the front office that we were allowed to paint our apartment, although they did inform us that we would have to paint a coat of kills over everything before we left. This is a general rule of most apartment living...you leave the apartment as you leased it, minus an acceptable amount of wear and tear. As far as the roaches go, we had the same problem on moving in and were PISSED...but once we used their free weekly pest control the problem was resolved fairly quickly, luckily or there would have been more problems.
