The Worst Place Ever - Read My Review!

I moved there Nov.1, 2008. On the day of our move, we arrived at the apartments just to find it, the way the last tenants left it! Completely dirty, walls not painted, blinds just laying on the floor, wall with holes, counter tops, bathrooms dirty. Now the leasing office knew that I was going to move for almost 2 weeks! I had my movers and truck outside. So we call the leasing office, they send this girl to clean the apartment by herself we have a 2 bedroom townhouse, then the carpet guys came to do a quick steam on the carpet. We had to wait about 3 - 4 hours for them to finish. Movers work by the hour. So the leasing office promised us to take care of everything as we moved in.
So we had to wait almost 2 months before anybody ever painted and fixed the whole in the walls, the brand new stove was not working and GE is having to service it because it is brand new, however it took 3 months. Needless to say the property manager Raylynn NEVER returns ANY phone calls. I would always get the she is out to lunch, she is not in, etc. any excuse not to talk to her.
Now I am living there for about 3 months, the month of February was filled with heavy rain and guess what' My basement flooded completely, I call the leasing office, so they send someone on Saturday to extract the water, then Saturday night it rains again, so they come out and extract again, the following tuesday they sent some maintanence people to look at the problem. The finding is that the foundation has a crack! To top it off one of the main pipes were leaking causing the ceiling downstairs to get soak and grow mildew. So they fix that by cutting out the wall. All this is at the same time! Back to the crack in the foundation problem. It started in the beginning of February of 2009, now it April. The problem has not been fixed nor did they do an attempt to do so. My basement has been flooded every other day because of the heavy rain we had, they only sent someone once to extract the water. We told the property manager, to move us into another unit, she has the audacity to tell us that we would have to pay an additional $300 because it has a garage, she didn't over rent reduction, the only thing she mentioned is she would let us out of our lease! How is any of this benefitting me, I pay my rent on time. But the Gables management is incompetent to upkeep the apartments. This is almost like slum lording. As I write this review NOTHING has been done to fix our problem nor did anyone try and correct the issue. I received a phone call from Raylynn maybe 2 weeks ago telling me "Everytime it rains, I am thinking of you" then the maintanence staff asked "If it still has been flooding". Duh why wouldn't it be, have you guys do anything to fix the problem''
The management is the absolute worst, they have no sense of customer service, no sense of urgency. I would not waste my money on this property of any Gables managed community.
