I went through the process of reading the reviews on here before I made a decision to live at Cambridge at Buckhead. Let me just share my entire experience.
I was relocating with work and therefore was not familiar with Atlanta, I chose Cambridge at Buckhead because the location was ideal. I should have known however right from the initial stages that this community had issues. I had to call almost every day for a week in order for them to fax me my application as I had decided on an apt, they finally did it and noted the wrong apartment - eventually that was corrected and I flew to GA to sign the agreement. During my visit and as I tried to enter through the main gate, the police stormed into the community as apparently someone was reportedly trying to break in to an apt (ended up hearing it was domestic related and not a "burglar"). This bothered me a bit since it was my first impression of the community so I went to speak with the community manager to terminate my lease. I had signed the lease the day before and her response was that I'd have to give 60 day notice. Now, I hadn't moved anything, my move in date wasn't until 1 month later. I decided it was too complicated to give notice and decided to stay; she worked with me and moved me to an apartment by the pool - so I was sort of satisfied. Before I left GA, I viewed the "new" apartment and noticed various things that needed to be fixed - discolored cabinets, stove pieces missing, hole in the wall, missing string to turn on fan and other minor stuff. I was assured this would all be fixed when I moved in a month later.
I drove 13 hours to Atlanta to finally move in to my new place and everything was exactly as I had seen it about a month ago. I had to wait about 2 weeks for everthing to be fixed. Also, I was given a gate access card that did not work; however, I did not know this until 2 weeks later as the gate was broken. I found out it didn't work at 3am one day coming home from the airport with visitors - how embarrassing! Management indicated they had programmed the card incorrectly. They also didn't provide me with a key to my mailbox until a week later when I finally asked for it. Just to summarize the move in process - absolutely disorganized and careless.
On top of the above, my stove did not work. Had to wait 2 days to have that fixed. The bathroom sink stopper wasn't functioning so the sink would fill up with water - had to wait a couple of days to have that fixed. The hole in the wall, I fixed myself. My refrigerator sounded like a Boeing 747 and when I informed maintenance it also took a couple of days to have fixed. So overall, did they fix things' Yes they did, but was it timely' Definitely not, sometimes it took 2 days, sometimes 3, sometimes 4, sometimes 5 and sometimes even more. I'm actually currently wainting on something to be fixed and I've been waiting for over 2 weeks so looks like instead of improving things are getting worse.
In addition to all this, management keeps changing. This surely shows there is a fundamental problem in the structure of this real estate company.
Let me share some more stories, my alarm malfunctioned and went off - of course I thought someone was breaking in. Learn to find out it was the sensors, yet when maintenance came to fix it they said nothing was wrong, if it happened again to let them know. Any reasonable community would fix and/or replace the sensors rather than making you go through hearing your alarm go off! How would you feel if your alarm went off when you're laying in bed' What are you supposed to think' I also had a problem with my heating blowing out cold air. Took them almost a week to fix this, it wasn't very pleasant to have to feel uncomfortable in your own home.
The last thing that really hinders the timeliness of maintenace is that everytime i reported something they'd call to verify my "big dog" was locked up. I don't have a dog! I've told them this about 5 times and yet they still ask - this is where the turnover in management hinders things.
So again, we're all adults, we can make decisions to live where we want. I was the type to take this type of information with a grain of salt but you know what, at some point, when the reviews are consistently negative there definitely is a problem. I'm a working professional and just don't feel that you will get what you pay for here - do yourself a favor and take yourself elsewhere. I have finally given notice and will be leaving soon! Oh and just for the record, i'm typically a very lucky person so I don't think my experience here was a strike of bad luck! Good luck!

Yes, I used to live at Cambridge at Buckhead before the quality really dropped. They went through five managers while I was there...and that was in just one year! They had some good ones, too. Finally, the quality got so bad that I decided to buy my own place. Even the maintenance man who was living there just got so tired of it that he quit. I wish the company had gotten its act together. The only thing it has going for it is a fake facade in Buckhead.

Honestly...i'm on the fence with safety. I live on a top floor so from that sense don't think anyone would "break in". However, the gate is hardly functional, most of the time it is broken and so anyone can enter. Also, the alarm system is not free if you want the phone system activated. If you just want the alarm that goes off like a siren, then it is free; you give them a code and they'll activate it for you. I had this experience (Read above) and it works well but I'm not sure what it would do; I guess it would deter intruders from proceeding. Parking is not a problem, never has been for me. I did not live in 628. I would actually try to stick to the buildings near the pool; have heard from others that the buildings in the back is "where stuff happens". I have heard of breakins but honestly since I've been here I haven't heard of anything, I don't know if management "throws it under the rug". As for the people, they're alright, not very friendly and somewhat inconsiderate. I typically see garbage outside the apartments for a few days and in the parking areas people will just leave "crap" all around. You can tell people dont look at this place as "home" which they should. I would again say to please reconsider - location is great, but this community really does not appreciate you as a resident. I'm currently looking and there are great deals out there depending upon what you're looking for. Good luck!
