Beauty is in the Eye of the Beholder...

I moved into this apartment complex due to the grounds appearance and the level of service I received when I went through the application process. I didn't get the same service at some of the other communities I looked at in the Dunwoody area. I can't say that some of the bad things said about the complex are true or false, but I can tell you what my experience has been over the past couple months that I've been here. My building is very quiet and I have very respectable neighbors of various races. Noise has not been a problem for me, but I have experienced seeing 2 huge roaches in the lobby and had ants crawling in under the door. (I'm on the first floor and this is GA so honestly that is what I expected). But that was easily handled with a call to maintenance who now exterminates my area twice a week. There are alot of children in the complex, but the ones I have encountered have been well mannered. I'm not usually "hanging around" the complex in the late evenings/weekends, so I can't comment about the "thugs" and "drugs" because I have yet to experience it. My neighbor did tell me that her apartment was broken into, but nothing was taken. She even went so far as to say that she really believes it was bored children. Security is not the greatest. Yes, the gate is always broken, but I can attest that the gate company is always fixing it as well. I have not had much contact with the leasing office since I completed my move as I was satisfied with the condition of things when I moved in. I addressed the minor concerns I had before my furniture got in the door ( A leaky faucet which was changed right away, the shower water pressure was adjusted immediately and a closet door that had a few marks in it was replaced). Since then, I have not had any reason to call on the leasing office, so I can't comment on their reliability or attitude. Parking is not good for people who get in later in the evenings because space is limited. It's first come first serve, unless you have a garage. As much as it is tight, I have always been able to park within a reasonable distance to my apartment without fear for my safety. As a new tenant, I can observe that the community has "aged" and the "newness" is fading, but I think they are doing a decent job of maintaining the apartments and grounds. I don't believe that we can control people however, and I have heard that some buildings do have some questionable tenants. I thank God my building is not one of them and that thus far my experience with the community has been a pleasant one. If you are a flexible person, who is looking for convenience and a comfortable, attractive, place to come home to, I would definitely recommend that you visit Summit Club. If you are very particular and will not accept anything less than perfect, you may want to keep looking. Otherwise, check the place out...you might like it.
