Solid Property (and a note about crime)

I ended a year-long lease earlier this year to move into a house. On the whole, my experience here was very positive. The property is normally kept very clean, the residents are generally much better-behaved than other places I have lived, and the location is pretty convenient to just about everything in Downtown or Midtown. The interiors are all pretty new and very nice. I had a great view of Downtown.
On the down-side, parking can be an issue anytime you drive in or out around dinner time thanks to the restaurant valet downstairs. As has been said, the office staff can be iffy, but as with any property, you have to figure out who will get things done for you and who will not. Finally, I would not recommed living right on North Ave (its REALLY noisy out there).
BUT ABOUT THIS CRIME: Folks, you chose to live in inner-city Atlanta. The only way you could pick a rougher spot is if you moved into Detriot, Newark, or New Orleans. Just because the property is nice and new does not mean that you do not still live in one of the most dangerous places in America. If you leave your laptop sitting out in your front seat, you WILL come out in the morning to a busted window and a stripped-down vehicle. Thats not Camden, thats Atlanta.
If you are moving into Midtown from the suburbs or from another city, do not be amazed when you are accosted by homeless people or drug addicts. They are everywhere and as long as there are about 20 shelters and/or soup kitchens in the downtown area, they always will be. If you give crooks and addicts any opportunity to steal your stuff, they will take it in a heartbeat.
And trust me, the manager could erect 20-foot fencing and have a whole squad of armed guards and not stop this. Since I moved into a house about a mile from Camden, I have seen items as large as 37-inch TVs ripped off walls and carted off in broad daylight in front of ten witnesses. Again, thats Atlanta. If you understand that before you move down here and protect yourself accordingly, you'll be so much happier.
