better than a cardboard box

I've lived here for over 3 years but I'm happy my lease is up. Yes, the size is nice and the location is pretty accessible to 85 and not far to Piedmont Park. Kroger, Blockbuster, Eckerd, the Post Office are practically next door, and the QT is across the street. The people in the leasing office seem nice enough, though my contact with them is limited.
BUT... If you live here, make sure you invest in a few good surge protectors, as the electricity goes out ALL the time (usually for no apparent reason). I know this tends to happen during the day because when I get home the computer, VCR, answering machine, fish tank filter, etc. all need to be re-set! The maintenance is OK at best. I've had some unfortunate things happen: (bathroom ceiling cave in/get moldy when the non-english speaking neighbors upstairs let their tub overflow'''), the ant invasions (like everyone else), the attacking roaches that drop out of the trees that overhang the stairwells, the raccoons that relieve themselves on my stairs, etc. Oh yeah, and the vents are always moldy, so I'm glad I don't have allergies. The grounds are average, the gate is forever broken (I've been "trapped" both inside AND outside the gate on 3 occassions). The trash overflows the dumpster every single weekend, there is no recycling, parking is less than adequate, and the pool deck is in the shade (so don't bother thinking you're going to get a tan!). The "fitness center" is also a joke and very hot in the summer. My car has been keyed twice, as well as some of my neighbors. Receiving delivered packages is a major pain sometimes, too. I wish I had more good things to say, but I don't :(
