In order to get you to sign your life away on a lease the office staff will tell you everything you want to hear.
Once move in day came we were shocked to find out the "second floor" apartment we signed a lease for was actually on the lowest level(almost two stories below ground level) on the back side. Work orders that were placed in the lease agreement still have not been fixed (we have lived here for almost 10 months).
Our basement level apartment has flooded 5 plus times. Every time the apartment has flooded the maintenance man has come up with another bogus excuse for what is causing the flooding. He then claims to have fixed it and yet a short time later the water comes from the same place flooding the apartment again. Currently we have standing water in our apartment (which has been there for over a month) it started in a contained area and has spread to nearly half of the apartment. There is so much water that after a few days of using the shop-vac to suck up the water it broke. We are never able to get the maintenance man out to the apartment and if he does come if NEVER fixes anything. All the flooding has caused ramped and prolonged mold growth. What is Clifton Apartments answer to mold''' Do nothing or paint over it (without locating the mold's source of moisture). Being an Emory student I know many people who reside in the complex all of whom have dealt with their own unpleasant issues here at the Clifton Apartments. My roommates and I suspect that the prolonged exposure to mold growing in over half of the rooms in our apartments may have lead to our declining heath in the past few months. AND STILL THE CLIFTON APARTMENTS HAS DONE NOTHING!!
There is a rather large infestation of centipedes in many of the apartments. For those of you who do not realize these are carnivorous bug capable of rendering a NASTY bite. There are also many other bug issues including (but not limited to) roaches, ants, and bees. All of the bug issues are kind of funny considering every person who lives in the complex pays a monthly fee for pest control; however, once again you call to ask them to come spray and either they never respond or they claim they sent someone.
Do not live here unless you are keen to the idea of residing in the last level of Dante's the Inferno.
A few side notes
1) There are no over head lights in the rooms or hallways
2) Nearly all the porches are uncovered on the top floor. (When it rains in pours all the way down to the ground floor.
3) There is no such thing as office hours (they are never open)
4) The heat and AC units are very outdated and inefficient and yet they will not replace them (ours did not cool in the summer)
5) We live in one of the largest apartments in the complex and there are only two rooms with windows (Which is terrible if you are without power for 2 days as we were recently.

I disagree with the past two comments about Clifton. These apartments were all upgraded a few years ago and the maint. staff and girls in the office are great. Great location and small gated community clean grounds and love the pool here. Quite all the time which is great since most of us are graduate students and professors here. BTW when we didnt have power for two days that was due to a tree that fell down from the tornado that effected 10,000 people in the area. That was not of any fault of Clifton apartments. Thanks just had to speak up for them!!
