I moved to the Darlinton 2 years ago because it was a good deal and in a good location. On and off, it has been hell living here. I think I just have bad luck in this apartment, because I have had two different sets of couples living next door over this 2 year period and both couples were the poster children for domestic violence. I could hear screaming, slapping, things breaking... it was completely disturbing. The cops were called numerous times and the response they got upon arrival (if the couple had not left the premises) was "nothins wrong here!". So, I notified the leasing office with a full report of the goings on... and the response was "awww, that's bad! Did you call the police''... you did' ok... well, we'll write them a letter asking them to keep it down". Even the "concierge", which is supposed to be some kind of make-shift security detail did nothing. How can I call you to tell you about a disturbance and though you answer the phone "Hello, this is officer (insert idiotic name here)... ok I'll be right there!" and no help shows except for the police, 45 minutes later. The disturbance continued and I got ear plugs.
The leasing office staff has changed atleast 4 times since I've been there and no one can answer questions properly. I can interpret the lease better than they can... there is something wrong when a leasee is explaining the terms and conditions as per the lease to the leaser.
My windows can't open, except for one (they're rusted shut)
You can't control the heat, so it's either burning up in the winter or (as in my place) you can see your breath it's so cold.
In the summer... same thing... the ----- and I sit around drinking lemonade to stay cool... the airconditioning is horrible. Depending on which apartment you have there will be either a pink or black/grey substance coming from the vents... I don't know what it is and they don't either... but it can't be good.
The roaches just make themselves at home. No matter how clean you are... you'll see one or two...but I think they're trying to fix that problem with a new exterminator team on scheduled dates...big deal.
There's so much more I could talk about, but if you live there... you'll see for yourself. It has nothing to do with black men living there... I am a black woman. I do believe that many of the people here are decent, hardworking people... but there's only so much a person can take. I'm not scared for my life because of the people living there... it's not the projects, but when management is horrible and the place is falling apart, what do you expect' I should've known... to good to be true.

Regretfully, I was googling this place to find the leasing office number because the LIGHTS JUST WENT OUT but the computer stayed on??????! I don't live here, but Im visiting. As I was looking for a piece of paper with my cell phone light a roach came crawling across it! I swear on everything I love this is a true story...This place is a health hazard and infested. The room Im visiting is CLEAN and there are still roaches,, Roaches carry germs and diseases..NO roaches are not okay..The heat is a true story..on going beyond your personal control..Image having an elderly/child visit that should not be exposed to mold and internal toxics?? Old filters?? Are you kidding?? I can't type further, like I said Im in the DARK....
