The apartment complex isn't bad. It's got all the amenities you'd want: gated, w/d included, pretty landscaping and lovely birds singing, fairly spacious. Maintenance guys take care of things when you need them to and it has been renovated recently. The location is awesome and the proximity to MARTA is unbeatable. But it also has it shares of downsides. Parking is horrible if you're in one of the buildings closest to the entrance. Show up after 6pm and there's little chance of a space in front of your door. The walls are horribly insulated, I can hear what's going in every apartment around me. The property has changed management hands about three times now and every time some new policy is enacted. We've managed to keep our rent at $800 for four years only to succumb to a $100 raise this year, but not through lack of argument. It sometimes seems they don't want to do anything to keep their residents. The air conditioning is odd. The bedroom is always significantly hotter than the rest of the apartment and no amount of air circulation fixes it. It's hard to get a wireless signal consistently because of how the fuse boxes are located. Recently, the complex has gotten a contract with the Art Institute down the street which as brought more problems. Students party at all hours of the night and are loud in the parking lots. Neighbors have complained so it's died down recently but I am sure it will return with the new students in the Fall. I'm staying in this apartment mainly because I've got one more year until I graduate and I'm too lazy to move for only two semesters. Overall, yeah it's a nice place but I'm sure you could do better and cheaper.
