Years at this apartment: 2002 - 2004
I lived at Estates for two years and besides the bugs and recurring problems with my heat and AC, I liked it well enough.
BUT... I moved out in October of 2004. I asked Mary-Claire if I needed to complete a check out report. She told me not to worry about it - big mistake. Over 7 months after leaving, I received a certified letter saying I owed them nearly $800 (with no explination of the charges), and they had been trying to contact me. I had left a forwarding address and phone number, so this is not possible. I asked for an explination of charges...got an assistant (------- american, i think)but no one ever returned my call. Fast forward a few months....they sent it to collections. I again called and asked for a description of charges...this time Penelope was rude, dismissive, and claimed that they had done everything right (notified me in a timely manner, given me enough time to pay, etc). Even their collections company refuses to provide me a description of items I am being charged for. So, i am taking them to court.
Save yourself alot of time and money, and make sure you do a complete move out report. And avoid Penelope whenever possible. Shes a snake.
