The staff that works here is fabulous. If you have a problem, it gets fixed promptly. They are great about returning phone calls and following up on whatever issues arise. They are also very concerned about noise issues, and do what they can to work with people who may have a tendency towards being loud.
The only problems I've really had at Fernwood are with the parking situation and noise pollution. I live on the Northside Road side, and cars stopping at the stoplight at night usually have booming loud bass music that shakes the entire apartment, until the light changes. Also being on this corner of the complex: forget about getting a parking space near your apt. after 6pm. It fills up and if you are like me, going out at night and coming home even as early as 10pm, you have to park way on the other side of the complex and walk back. It's not that big of a complex, but it is still a BIG pain.
Also, the walls are thin, and if a neighbor lives above you who likes to listen to the radio or TV in their bedroom, you can hear it very well in your own bedroom.
There also seems to be an ant problem around the complex. I have sprayed down the window sills and around the doors to keep them out, and that seems to keep them at bay. But they did get in my old car and I had a major problem w/ those last summer. Another lady said that they got in her & her husband's car too. I've not had problems with them this summer yet.
The pool is well-maintained and the grounds are kept neat and clean. It is a great little complex on the whole, and I would recommend it. It is especially great for Georgia Tech students - reasonbly priced and convenient to everything.

08-03-05: I agree with everything she just said. It's very accurate and her concerns are reasonable. I do have a suggestion, though. I had the ants get into my car also during the summer and found out that parking under the trees was the main issue. You might have to walk even further, but parking on the side opposite the overhanging trees eliminated my problem.
