Good but not great

I've lived here going on 10 months now and the experience has not been bad. I am aware of some cars getting broken into, but I am not aware as it being as frequent as some of the other reviewers have made it seem. That could be just for the fact that it hasn't happened to me.

I would contest that maintenance isn't as great as others say. I had a leak in my bathroom ceiling for going on 5 months before it was finally fixed. It was noticable it had been a problem before, because the ceiling had been patched in the same location. The office ignored my calls for the longest time. Then when I mentioned that mildew and mold were growing they were on it almost immediately. The excessive leaking caused water damage to the toliet seat which I was told would be replaced 6 weeks ago and it hasn't. When I see the maintenance guy in the parking lot he tells me he hasn't forgotten, but it still hasn't been replaced. My girlfriend who also lives in the complex has had a leak in her bathroom since when she moved in. Mainenance comes by every two weeks or so to try something new, but never seems to fix it and doesn't seem to interested. She finally sent a letter to property owner and is waiting for response.

Ants are a problem. Even with the weekly spraying I found it easier to invest in a small tube of caulk and plug up the holes they were entering the apartment.

Noise isn't too bad of an issue. I've never heard noise from adjacent apartments only the occasional walking around from the apartment above and yelling from when my neighbors below me fought. It is along the interstate and if you can hear the traffic, it isn't terrible and I got used to it in almost no time. I am in the end building near the dumpsters so when the garbage truck comes that often wakes me up in the morning. There was on one occassion when new tenants were moving in up stairs that the office didn't schedule the carpet to be replaced until the day they moved in. So the workers started pulling up and replacing at 7 am. Needless to say I didn't get too much sleep that morning.

Parking can be an issue if you live near the pool. I am in the end unit away from the pool so I never have to walk too far.

I bought a dog part way through my lease and was surprised at the $400 fee (1/2 refundable if no damages). I thought I was quoted $250 when I first signed my lease. It was also questionable that there was no pet addendum to sign to go along with the lease. I guess I will see how that ends up when I move at the end of my lease.

The landscape is kept up well. Landscapers is present once or twice a week. The lawn at the end where dogs are walked is a mess. No one picks up after their dog, but this space is not used for anything else so not a huge issue. You just have to watch out for land mines while you walk your pet.

My apartment seems to get warm quickly and the heat/air runs more often than it should. The unit only turns off for 5-10 minutes before it is back on. When the heat is on it always seems to be 10 degrees warmer than what the thermostat is set at. This could just be my apartment and I have learned to cope and deal with this.

The use of the pool area is pretty lax. I know a few girls that live in the houses near by that come and use the pool routinely. I know its tough to regulate this but at the same time I am aware that my rent is what is being used for the up keep. The grill by the pool area is nice, though it has been out or ran out of propane a few times when I have been wanting to grill.

Overall not a bad place to live. People in the community are friendly for the most part.
