I lived in this complex for two years with a roommate, and only recently escaped. When it was Lincoln Court the staff was reasonably responsive, and things were kept in good repair. Once Gables stepped in, everything took a turn for the worse.
Any criteria for who to rent to went out the window. Within the first few months of Gables being in charge, we had the police around all the time serving eviction notices. Not to mention when they were called for shots fired.
Many of our neighbors were loud all the time and would have parties in the nonexistent back yard of our building. Many mornings I came out to empty beer cups and vomit on the steps around our apartment. Soundproofing between the units is nonexistent. We did have some nice neighbors, but it seems like they are all leaving.
The gate rarely worked. When Lincoln Court was there we had a working security camera, but that has not been fixed. Many times the gate would be broken keeping residents out. I would try to call the leasing office to let them know that, but they NEVER answer the phone. Ever.
I agree with another person's comments about the pool - it has definitely gotten scummy. Maintenance personnel is very nice, but I tried to get something in my unit fixed for three months - and went into the office three times to ask about it - before I gave up.
And the worst part is the new office staff. Completely rude every time we walked in, the manager would wave his hand dismissively and shut the door to his office and not even acknowledge us. They never answered the phone, and they stopped accepting packages because it "cluttered up the office space," the space being a storage closet where Lincoln Court never had any problem holding packages.
Parking was an issue at night. People constantly park along the curb in order to save themselves from actually finding a spot. Problem is, they ALWAYS park in front of a fire hydrant, and nothing has ever been done about this.
The apartments themselves were very nice, but their quality can only get you past a certain amount of BS from management.
