Honestly there is crime everywhere in atlanta, therefore I cannot fault them for the surroundings. This area is actually a nice area to stay in contrast to SE and SW Atlanta. However The parking situations could be improved. If you want someone to visit, it becomes very cumbersome to have someone park in the guest parking lot, then walk back clear across the entire property. The AC and heat consistently failed during peak seasons and I was forced to deal with terrible living conditions for days before it could be repaired. Once or twice they came in, (while i was away)left a note that it was repaired, when it clearly wasn't. There was a momentary ant issue where they were coming in through the pipes, eventually they did take care of it, weeks later. Some of the management lack customer service skills, while others are more than satisfactory, so thats a toss up.
Overall, living hear i never felt threatened or unsafe. I noticed residents walking pets around the property at night, therefore it cant be exactly a crime zone. The apartments are spacious, however I do expect more for my money in regards to maintenance response and customer service.

In all fairness, the murder occurred in Summer 2007 and Gables DID improve security afterwards, so I can understand why you've felt safe since you moved in. I don't suggest that Gables is at fault for the rough area, only that it's something people should take into account. Maintenance used to be quicker - I would agree they're much slower and less dependable these days. I agree that guest parking is a huge hassle, as well. All in all, accurate current review, I think.
