I lived at Gables Lenox Hills during 2008 and 2009. Ill divide my review into the good and the bad.

Good:
-Large garden bathtub
-Decent kitchens
-Parking underneath buildings
-I-85 about a minute away
-Very close to buckhead, easy to get to downtown Atlanta
-Lots of green space
-Friendly maintenance staff

Bad:
-Lots of noise from Buford Highway, especially for apartments that are near the front of the complex. Pink Pony and Club Miami are directly across the street. On the weekends you can hear people coming and going from Club Miami until 4AM (a very rowdy crowd). You can also hear cars with loud exhaust going up and down buford highway.
-The staff is very hard to get on the phone. I was never once called back when I left a message (more than 5 times).
-Murder occured here some time in 2007 or 2008 (read other reviews for more info). Although during my stay I always felt safe.
-The entrance gate. People will often try to tailgate you and follow you in the gate. The gate was broken about one a month or so (not Gables fault, people would drive right through it). Although when the gate was broken, at night a security guard would sit at the gate.
-During the afternoon, the resident gate will get blocked by visitors who cant figure out how to get in.
-Outgoing mail box was broken into at least twice during my stay. I had bill payments stolen (a big headache). I took all my mail to blue boxes after that.


Could go either way:
-Lots of dog owners ($500 pet deposit)
-Pet trashcans with dog poop bags attached at all the green areas
-Strict parking rules. Will get booted with out pass unless in guest parking.
-A good bit of guest parking, but it is almost all on one side of the complex.

I agree with you 100% about getting the staff at the leasing office. I recently left 4 messages in 5 business days and no return call. I have lived here for more than 3 years and the woman who I believe is the current manager is not friendly and very difficult to converse with, not the greatest customer service skills. Also the maintenance staff is AWESOME, very friendly, very helpful.

I agree with you about the leasing office employees...they are SO rude. They always act like you are bothering them when you come in - Sometimes I need to get packages from the office because the lazy a** USPS postman won't deliver them to your door (even though he takes his sweet time delivering the mail out there) and it just feels like I'm a hassle....I even say "thank you" and they just say "mmmhmm" - last I knew "mmhmm" wasn't the proper response to thank you ")
