Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I moved in from out of state in the fall 2006 and the troubles from the start should have been my first warning. After waiting an hour from driving in from 4 states over the original rent quote increased, I was given the wrong key and expected to wait for a new key until the next day and was not given my mailbox key until I turned in my walk thru list. Then once given a key I realized I was not given the apt that I was told I would be renting. After 2 days I was told by the manager I could switch apts but it was then to late due to the movers already delivering my things. To make a long story short, no one picks up after themselves or their dogs, noisy neighbors, not enough parking, lighting court yards not fixed, gates always broke, numerous break-ins, finding a crack pipe on the side walk while walking my dogs and so on... Then they are never consistent with answering the phone or returning calls or to giving prior notice if the office is going to be closed during normal business hours. I'm not sure if this is the way it is at all Gables properties, however sadly (beautiful exteriors and some nice interior features) I would not recommend the Gables Metropolitan.
