I have been meaning to write a thorough review because everyone needs to know who Gables does not care about the way people live. Everyone, we live in a GHETTO! We pay a very high rent rate to get quality and upscale living. The upscale is only disguised by the luxurious pool - other than that, if you take a look, you will only find filth and shady people. I live in Phase 3 - wow! beautiful pool and cool gym, huh' Look around: the hallways have not been cleaned in over a year! Neighbors constantly leave the trash bags outside their doors; beer cans everywhere; the stairs are never cleaned so you will find all kinds of gross objects, like dirty Q-tips; the elevator - OMG - the elevator is so disgusting! It has not been cleaned since I moved a year ago - there are hand-prints, lipstick prints, dog-pee stains and last week, someone stuck a piece of gum on the door - that piece of bright green gum was there for an entire day, and removed after I called to complain. C'mon folks! Grocery store carts - from Walmart to Target - are left behind in the hallways and parking lot! GHETTO! I signed a contract for two years and I struggle day after day thinking about my decision. My carpet has shrunk and it is wrinkled in several place - keep in mind the apartment is no more than 2 years old. The glass cover for the light fixture in the master bathroom has fallen TWICE in one year - crashing into a million pieces- very frightful experience and we are thankful it did not fall on us! BTW, it has not been replaced and it has been over 3 weeeks ago. Try to get someone to come take care of your maintenance call - good luck! You will have to call several times before someone comes. This is place is a total DUMP. They are giving an $800 referral fee, but folks, how can someone refer anyone to this disgusting dump' The parking lot is a disaster. Oh, there is no assigned parking but there are two motorcycles that have "exclusive" parking spots in the prime parking spots - two motocycles taking up 2 spots - permanently! And regarding section 8 - that is what all the responsible residents talk about. We know there is section 8, c'mon! Gables has zero concern about who moves in, the administrators could care less about the welfare of the residents, all they care about is the $$$$.

I don't think I've ever seen a more obviously planted message... I wonder which member of the office staff wrote this one.

All you people on here are idiots and ridiculous! And no, I don't work for Gables or for apartment communities because I would never want to have to help you lazy people! You said it yourself-your neighbors do all that! It is a HUGE apartment complex and there is no way a few people can account for all the trash, carts, boxes, bags, cans, and bottles. It is the job of maintenance to pick up trash and clean up after lazy residents and their friends/family/every one and their brother they invite over on the weekends who trash the place and flock here because they can't afford it! But gee maybe if the residents actually cared about and took pride in their HOME that they pay so much money for there wouldn't be these problems. Maybe the 500 pet owners could be responsible parents and here's a new one-pick up and clean up after your pets! Everyone would be happier if you weren't so lazy to actually take a cart from a store instead of using your arms or car, leave your trash outside the dumpster and front doors, and leave trash and cans everywhere like you ARE ghetto! I do see maintenance clean the halls and elevators often, but again if half the people here wouldn't be slobs, everyone's lives would be easier and more pleasant! The parking lot is a "disaster." Are you SERIOUS? You are going to waste your year upset that someone is parking their valid transportation in who knew there are "exclusive" parking spots and that somehow makes it a "disaster?" Obviously you are not a "responsible", knowledgable, clearly not from Atlanta, resident because if you were, you would know that there would never ever be Section 8 housing in Dunwoody, Ga anywhere. The families here would never ever let that happen. Why in the world did you move here? Because everyone knows that Dunwoody has and always will have a good reputation and be a nice place to live. And I'm pretty sure no company makes money money money from Section 8 residents. And if you pay a very high rent rate to get quality and upscale living, maybe you should take all your money and break your lease, since you're above everyone else and live in a "dump."

You know....I am so tired of these idiots who say "oh, this is Atlanta" or "You clearly aren't from Atlanta." I've posted on here several times that I lived in Savannah at Park Place after I lived in the piece of garbage apartment complex they call Gables Metropolitan and I felt completely safe. A complex literally a 2 minute walk from Gables. When I lived in Gables, I felt like I had to keep my head on a swivel, have a car alarm, my alarm on in my apartment at all times, and keep a small arsenal with me because that place is garbage. It comes down to MANAGEMENT. In Gables, they let anyone who has the money to pay sign a lease because the place sucks so bad. whoever posted the last response is a frickin idiot. Now the parking lot thing that the original posting complains about is a little stupid, but you do have to worry about some low life breaking into your car to steal something, or steal the car itself. Some of the people that work in Gables are nice, genuine people...but they are the lowest on the totem pole usually. Anyone who has any say doesn't care about anything except getting their paycheck. yeah, this place blows big time.

I am not an associate of Gables! I have provided my email if you wish to communicate with me to verify this... Fair Housing Act overview The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in housing because of: * Race or color * National origin * Religion * Sex * Familial status (including children under the age of 18 living with parents;or legal custodians; pregnant women and people securing custodyof children under 18) * Handicap (Disability) Sometimes city ordinances can provide more protection than the federal or state acts, so check with your city to find out what is covered. In the Sale and Rental of Housing: No one may take any of the following actions based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status or handicap: Refuse to rent or sell housing * Refuse to negotiate for housing * Make housing unavailable * Deny a dwelling * Set different terms, conditions or privileges for sale or rental of a dwelling * Provide different housing services or facilities * Falsely deny that housing is available for inspection, sale, or rental * For profit, persuade owners to sell or rent (blockbusting) or * Deny anyone access to or membership in a facility or service (such as a multiple listing service) related to the sale or rental of housing. In Addition: It is illegal for anyone to: * Threaten, coerce, intimidate or interfere with anyone exercising a fair housing right or assisting others who exercise that right * Advertise or make any statement that indicates a limitation or preference based on race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or handicap. This prohibition against discriminatory advertising applies to single-family and owner-occupied housing that is otherwise exempt from the Fair Housing Act. How would you prefer for the company to qualify renters? Do you not enjoy your rights and freedoms? A concerned Neighbor!!! ashley.mcmann@gmail.com
