I have read many of the recent reviews and I am at a loss for words. I think that if I had experienced ANY of the things that my neighbors had I wouldn't be wasting my time writing a review on-line...I would be packing!!! That being said, I've had nothing but a good experience in my 2 and a half years. I have lived with most of the "big names" communites throughout Atlanta, and feel that Gables has the most to offer. I am now happy and considering going to a larger one bedroom. The transfer fee is a little steep, but I think I will suck it up and pay it. I stay in Phase 2 and enjoy my apartment, however I think I have outgrown it. A few of my neighbors leave their trash out from time to time, but that is my biggest complaint. Also I have to say that getting in touch with the office via phone can be a pain.
It is clean and the amenities are great! I love the pool over on the new side (and if you didn't know you can use it living over on this side).The gym is good. The trash compactors break often, but I have seen the maintenance team out there in freezing weather removing it by hand. I also like the fact that the gates seem to work most of the time (until some drunk idiot hits it). I lived at a place that it worked three times (only for a few days each time) in the year I lived there. I think that Gables does a good job with keeping things on the upside. This is me comparing it to other places. Prospective renters make up your own mind. This is only my experience.

Are you serious? I DO NOT work for Gables! I have no reason to prove myself to you. It is sad that you try and speak for everyone that lives here. I live here and have an opinion. I shared it, but nooooo I apparently cannot have a decent opinion or I work for the place. Stop bullying people around. Gables really is not that bad!

Prospective renters, I rest my case. Notice the tone used by this person? This is a classic sign of guilt or a cope out... turn defensive and appear as though your being attacked. Where in my reply did I ever once attack "ilovemydog12518" that would warrant a defensive retaliation? I never mention this person could not have an opinion nor did I stipulated that this person needed to prove themselves to me. The only accusation made that there are people who work for Gables that are posting deceiptive reviews in order to boost clientel when they don't tend to the clientel currently residing at the property. This is pretty much shown by this persons reply. (Note to ilovemydog12518, retaliating comments to another persons opinion on this site don't exactly make your wonderful opinion of the apartment community seem all that "honest".)

Ha she's trying to prove people to rent from here. I hope for her sake she really don't work for Gables since it is illegal to misrepresent the place you work for as that one other person said a while back (I looked it up it's true). Agreed to her defense - people either assume its acceptable for mediocracy (when you are being charged 200-300 more than apts next door), lack of common decency (not returning phone calls - rude office staff), etc. The list goes on. My guess is she feels attacked due to her "perfect" image being shattered. Seeing 22 cars broken into one night then the next night a car up on blocks doesn't exactly make one think Gables is so "perfect" anymore. It's not being mean - it's just stating the truth. Charge a fair rent and take care of the place, not charge a lot, and do the minimal repairs.
