I am a young single female. When I moved in, my security alarm was broken. I kept asking over and over for the mentally challenged staff to come fix it, but no one ever did anything. Since I had moved in, random people would come knocking on my door at 2,3,& 4 in the morning and it freaked me out. One day, my boyfriend was over and some guy came to the door and said "HEY. Dude, you're the one that drives that motorcycle and really cool truck, let me in." After saying no, the scruffy looking man left my door. It was creepy to know that someone was watching us and knew about what we had. Apparently that wasnt enough for the office staff to think about repairing my alarm system, so i had to get my dad involved. He could not get through to the low life dumb blondes in the leasing office, so he had to contact corporate to deman that they fix the alarm. Security on the grounds is a nightmare. My boyfriend drove a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 LIMITED EDITION RUMBLE BEE with performance wheels and tires and all that jazz. Basically it was a really sporty truck. One night we went to bed and he got up the next morning to go to school and guess what' IT WAS GONE. We called the cops and filed a report and then went to the office to review the security tapes. The staff didnt even know how to work their own surveillance equipment so my boyfriend had to go behind the desk and operate the machine for them. The gates are left open all the time and no one does anyhting about it. There is no security. We watched his truck on the poor quality video drive right out the gate following a white car that the thieves used to get in. Their surveillance is so cheap, we couldnt even read the licence plate. I wouldnt doubt if the maintenance workers were the ones who scoped out his truck and called one of their 'home boys' to come take it. It was later recovered in decatur with no wheels and the entire dash missing. The fixtures/everything in the apts are cheap and flimsy. They dont even clean the place before you move in. There is poor lighting outside, so dont go out after dark alone. TAKE MY ADVISE-DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. IT HAS BEEN AN EXPERIENCE FROM HELL AND THE LEASING OFFICE DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOU OR YOUR SAFETY.

check on landlord tenant law - i think you may have the right to break your lease due to thefts or crime and negligance on the apt complex. do a quick google search for "GA landlord tenant law"
Also sorry to hear about the truck / alarm. My alarm never worked for 2 yrs I was there. I ended up unplugging the unit from the wall because it just made noise. Also the complex covers up this stuff like no ones business. I had a HUGE list of all the crimes and stuff when I was in Dekalb cty police (had to pick up an accident report). It was several pages thick including violent crime (recent 6mnths ago). I never had experienced anything like this before anywhere else I've lived (including downtown Atlanta which theoretically is 10x worse).

Sorry for your mishaps... Word of advise to you is do not open your door to people you do not know. I live out in the new phase too and this has been happening
to me also people knocking on my door at odd hours of the night. I do not answer and eventually they go away. There have been alot of car break ins
occuring lately... I think this will eventually lead to apartment break real soon. The gates on the backside are always broke and left open for anyone
to enter. I have also notice alot of people moving in and right back out. I am moving out when my lease is up as I do not feel a safe sense of security
and the cost is to high for the paper thin walls in these apartments, I can hear every thing my neighbor does upstairs.
They supposely hired night security patrol which is not doing any good as car breaks ins are still occuring during the night and who knows
what else crime is happening around these apartments that we residents are not getting informed about. This is suppose to be a new apartment...
well most of the appliances(ice maker, dishwasher) does not work and it is staying broke until I get ready to move out then I will inform
them about it just before I do so. I have been here over a year when it first opened it was nice then but I see this place going downhill fast. Cannot wait
until I am out of here.

This place is absolutely terrible....when I first saw it, I was kind of blinded by how nice it looked on the outside. I moved into the new phase In July 2007, which is when I first came down to Atlanta. Being new to ATL and not knowing anyone, I didn't leave the place much. In August, I went out for literally the first time on a Friday night. Came back really late that night, and when I tried to open my door, it was locked from the inside. Since I lived in a first floor apt (2255 in the new phase, right where the pool is) I went around back to my patio, only to see that my door was open. Yeah, someone broke in through my window and between me and my roomate stole $8000 worth of stuff. With all the stuff they took, there had to have been more then one person. And with all the people walking their dogs in the back, I cannot BELIEVE no one say. And there isn't anywhere close to put a car, so it had to be someone who lived there. Or some shady maintence f***ker tipped someone off. Did the staff make anyone aware about the break-in? Of course not. The people that work in the office are some of the stupidest people I have ever met in my entire life. The average IQ there must be 40. It's hard to explain something to a stupid person.
By the way, for any of you who are thinking about moving out......give them a written notice AT LEAST 60 days in advance. I work in a job that moves me around and does not give me the luxury of giving a 60 day notice and the -------s would NOT work with me. I am now having to pay over $3000 for the month to month rent fee. Would they work with me on it? of course not......the best they can do was a payment plan. I HATE THIS PLACE AND HAVE SINCE MOVED INTO SAVANNAH PARK PLACE. Not as nice, but the staff is extremely friendly and I don't have to worry about thugs stealing my stuff. And the alarms actually work there too.
