Was wondering if anyone would be willing to comment on living in the townhomes here. Just signed a lease, but have the 3 day window to decide and wanted to get some advice on if my decision to rent here is worth it-Primarily from a townhome perspective.
Appreciate your help!

I don't mean to sound like a smart allec, but haven't you read all the reviews about this place??? We're all scarred from this place!!! DO NOT MOVE IN HERE. EVERYONE who has their lease get ready to expire bolts out of here. They just lure you with the lush landscape to cover up the other stuff going on... Car Thefts every week, courtesy officer cares more about saving money on his own rent than actually being a law presence, maintenance scopes out your car and the stuff you have in your apt after you call in a repair request, than suddenly bank papers come missing in your drawers and car gets stolen or broken into. You have no idea the drama that goes on here, the management staff is too busy covering up complaints to even see there's organized crime here run by their maintenance crew. RUN don't walk, RUN!!! I'm pretty familiar with this area, if you want a townhome look at something like Mt. Vernon Plantations or the big apt complext right across the street from them, Gables Metro has long been relying on their location to get away with everything else you won't find out about after the ink on your lease dries.

As the previous person stated you can do better. The townhomes in another complex off Roswell road (more towards Buckhead) is 10x better and run 10x better. Save yourself the trouble and money and search more.
And the crime is for real since I had stuff stolen out of my apt (can't prove it since it was just beer and such) but extremely frustrating. I've never seen a car on blocks before other than when I lived here in Dunwoody NOT downtown.
Plus they refuse to fix the exterior lights correctly / gate guy is so frustrated because they won't do the necessary fixes. If you want a place held together by duct tape go for it. Read any of the other reviews. Do it for your safety.

dont know about the Townhomes but the apartments sucks. If the apartments have paper thin walls. I doubt the townhomes are much better.

It must not be that bad... For a place so large to have the same 10 people constantly complaining

Same thoughts here. The place is ok. If all of you haters (or just members of competitors' properties across the street, you know who you are!!!) didn't like it THAT much, why on Earth didn't you take advantage of the 30 day satisfaction deal they offer and move out? It's not the greatest thing since sliced bread, that's granted, but for the price and location it's OK. Oh, yeah, go ahead and label me as one of the nasty management staff, I bet you can even tell who I am by the writing style.

Sorry it is past the 72 hours but thought I would let you know we've been in the townhomes for 5 years. We do not have any complaints with maintenance except for one A/C unit which (although repaired many times) continues to fail and with the gates always breaking. Possibly it is different in the townhomes than in the other units.
Our maintenance is always completed quickly and well done.
Sorry to hear about all the bad experiences everyone else appears to be having - and no neither one of us works for Gables.

I used to work at this property and still live here. Let me tell you how it really is! The gates get broken because everyone tries to run them down! We have a 15 minute response time to call the gate co when we get a call that they are broken! The gate company that we had a contract with had to respond that day weekends included! A lady called up because her car got stolen and when our courtesy officer went over there she realized it had been the repo company that had "stole" it! There were times when our maintanence men do miss things because it is an extremely busy property. We are human and make mistakes but when someone tells us we do whatever we can to make it right. We are still one of the best communities that I have ever worked or lived at. Even after I decided to leave to go back to school I still chose to live here. The best advice is go to the office and let them know your concerns. That is the only way they can solve the problems. There are so many residents but only the ones that are upset write in here. The rest of the 2000 people must be pretty happy. I know I am!

To the anonymous poster from 02/13/08......
A 30 day satisfaction deal???? ARE YOU KIDDING ME??? That was the entire purpose behind me signing the lease, then once signed the lease, I inquired about it again for safe measure. (The guy who was my agent surprisingly left to go to a different Gables Property). The new agent told me that and I quote "GABLES Properties do not offer a 30 day move out policy. The name will fool you because its only designed for tenants who have major problems such as plumbing, electrical etc with in their first 30 days of living in the property. The tenat submits a letter to the property manager who will decide if the new tenants complaint is valid. Should it be then that tenant may have to pay a prorated early termination fee as well as paying for any damages that may have taking place to the apartment...... Does this sound like an attractive option to you??? I don't know one person that lives in an apartment that can afford to throw hard earned money away.
It just amazes me the way people down play real problems on this review site. Look no one is saying the Gables Metropolitan sucks.. What people are saying is that the Gables Metropolitan can do A LOT better if they would only stop hiring youngster who know more about whats going on with Britney Spears than whats going on with the current state of water drought in the state of Georgia. I mean really, if you advertise LUXURY, then that term comes with a lot of RESPONSIBILITY! When have you ever seen a Luxury car that does not have all the amenities and pamperings of the car manufacturer???

We have been here in out townhouse now for a over a month and I wish we never had. First off, our leasing person was clueless from the beginning. We were told various things about credit checks, initially turned down, then told if we added a third roomate, we would be set. Very confusing! Secondly, we were promised by both our leasing person and a manager that we would get hardwood floors installed in out apartment within days of moving in! Has it happened? No! Very irritating! We werent even explained as to where things were on the property either like our own mailboxes. We tought that would be common sense for us to be told
