Loved it

I lived in the old phase for a year and loved it! Having lived in several apartment complexes I can say this was a very good apartment complex. I wish I could stay there still but I had move out of state due to work.

I'm not sure why so many people have had issues with it...but thought that I would share my experience.

1) Great location - close to Walmart, Perimeter Mall, restaurants, and the major highways.
2) Very pet friendly. If you're a dog owner this place is perfect, and there are lots of pet owners living there.
3) Free group tennis lessons once a week at the tennis courts. I loved this more than anything since I got to meet people who shared the same hobby and it was great to get free lessons from a former UGA tennis player. They had both beginner and intermediate groups.
4) Because the building has concrete floors I never had any noise issues or never heard any of my neighbors.
5) The pool was also very nice and had plenty of chairs to lay out on.

Wow, where do I begin....... 1.) The location is good. However, it can at times be a bit tiresome do to the massive amount of mall traffic and wally world traffic (thats walmart for those not hip to the lingo). 2.) This place is VERY pet friendly as its the only place I have lived in where pet owners can let their dogs crap in common walking areas and nothing is done to prevent it. How much dog poo needs to be in the walk ways and hallways before someone does something about this>..... 3.) Free Tennis Lessons..... sure, if you are a hot chick (race also applies here). I have contacted the "tennis coach" on several occassion and for the strangest reason, I have yet to get an appointment set up (lets keep in mind that I am a heterosexual black man.) And its not just this either, the "fitness trainer" whom works with the residents here never returns messages. Thus tenants are better off simply joining a gym if you are seeking a p.t. 4.) I totally disagree with you on this one. NOISE IS A HUGE FACTOR IN THIS PROPERTY. As concrete floors will equate to sound vibration. Unless there is a significant amount of padding added between the floors before the concrete is laid. And the walls are not exactly sound proofed well. Thus if your neighbor has music blasting (or is feeling freaky) be prepared to listen to their music or hear them getting laid for the night. 5.) I don't go to the pool area after realizing that most of the people at the pool don't live in the property. Instead they come up from other apartments without pools and hang out. (some don't live anywhere close to Dunwoody.)

so now tennis lessons can supercede the major maintance issues with the structures (cracking in the parking deck?). Also other anon be warned Gables staff (per other posts here) sometimes write misleading (and can be interpreted as illegally representing the property if caught) so I wouldn't waste your time with these posts. Many people who come to look at the place get shunned out by lack of customer service. I'd hate to say it but its a lesson learned.

You can definitely tell this is from someone who works for the complex. Any reviewer who numbers and lists the advantages like this person did is DEFINITELY an employee. and I agree with the first response.....the trainers are definitely not into training anyone except women. I don't know about the race thing....I just think you have to be a female. But everything else he said is 100% true. This place blows something fierce. I lived in Savannah at Park Place after I lived at Gables and I loved it. same area, almost as nice looking, and doesn't have nearly as many douchebags working and living there as Gables did.

I thought it would be easier listing stuff by numbers! Anyways, you can think whatever you want. I can't really comment on the trainer part, never really bothered to try that. It's funny that just because you say nice things about an apartment you must work for them. This would be the last comment I'm responding to regarding Gables!
