My wife and I moved into Gables Metropolitan around a year and a half back. The welcome formalities were simply awesome. They made us feel great. The stay in the community was pretty Ok.
But when it was finally time for us to move out (I was re-located by my company), they started showing their real self. They were thirsty of money!! They kept sending me 'arrears bills' when I had already paid off all rents and utility bills well before the due date. Every time I go to them and request clarification, they tell me that they dont have the exact details of the arrears at that time, as it has not yet been updated in the computer!! I guess they are still in the beginning phase of computerisation.
Now that I am out of there, Gables sent me a check as a refund of my initial deposit. They have taken out $100 from my deposit. I was personally present during the move out inspection and have received the signed document that says that I dont owe anything to Gables in terms of damages or repairs. Now I am making international calls to Gables every other day for a clarification on this. But, they have been really rude to me. The associate even disconnected my call in between last time.
And trust me, this is not just my case. My friends who moved out from Gables recently had to go through the same issues. So, I believe, this is a routine trick played by Gables to grab others' money.
As of now, I am still waiting for the response that was promised by the Gables accounting section.

I moved out of Gables back in 2008. I had to move to another state for post-graduate degree. After I moved out of Georgia, I received several bills unaccounted and everytime I'd call for a clarification on the bills, it's either nobody is available or they'd hang up on me during the conversation. I had to leave several, several messages to get the issue cleared and when I can finally get hold on somebody, they were extremely rude. MUST make sure that all your bills are cleared BEFORE you move out of that apartment!
