I have lived here for 1.5 years, and have mostly enjoyed the experience except for one major problem - the management. Now, I have worked with the public for a long time and know how things go...but when you pay a higher-than-average rental rate, you expect a certain degree of customer service. Over the last 1.5 years, the management has changed at least 3 times, each time worse than before. They are very rude and snippy with even the most common request or question.
The other reviews on here are correct, fire alarms go off constantly, and when you call to inform the staff/calling service (none of whom live on property), they either do not respond or take the phone off the hook. The last alarm went off at 10:50 PM and did not get turned off until 2:15AM. The staff stammered for excuses, but ask anyone out there on the curb in the rain, no effort was made on their part until 2:00AM. The Fire Dept. came at 11:15PM and cleared it, but Gables has a second alarm they have to shut off.
When we offered the suggestion of a Courtsey Officer in each building with the code to turn the alarm off after the Fire Department leaves, the management reply was "Well, I think it's an exaggeration that it was a 3 hour alarm...and we'll consider your recommendation"..this was followed with the snoodiest smile ever seen.
When attempting to follow up with the regional manager, the voicemail was forwarded to the very property manager we called to complain about...wow, great customer service! We have now been calling that Regional Manager weekly for 4 weeks now, all of the calls go unreturned. All we want is an apology and an effort to change this in the future...nope!
All in all, this is a beautiful property, but I, and many other, long-time residents are moving out ASAP. Take our advice and move elsewhere. Save yourself the AM Fire Drill headaches and attitudes!

This post could not be more true. The apartments are fly paper. They attract money in the form of renters with their beautiful landscaping, loft-like gym and two-tier swimming pool. But once you're "stuck" under a lease the real nightmare unfolds. These properties are built as cheaply and managed as rudely as the slummiest ghetto shack on the wrong side of the tracks. And the noise. You really would have to live here to believe it. It's no exaggeration to say that the absence of insulation between floor, ceiling and interior walls makes for an experience identical to living in a building under construction. |

Many apartment rating/review websites will draw more dissatisfied renters than satisfied customers... which is why I hesitate to post yet another complaint. I've lived in 3 luxury apartment complexes in Atlanta: 2 in Midtown, and 2 in Highlands/Emory. The Gables Management is, undoubtedly, the rudest staff I've ever encountered. |
