When I first moved into Gentrys Walk, I was absolutely thrilled with my new apartment. I live on the 3rd floor and have one of those apartments with the fireplace and vaulted ceilings. And it came with a washer/dryer. Many of the one bedroom apartments I had looked at were too small and most did not come with a washer and dryer. This was also the most spacious one bedroom I could find which I needed because I have a ton of belongings. I was happy living here until pretty much the beginning of 2004 when things went downhill in a hurry. The noise level here can get very bad, as people have mentioned previously about cruising in the parking lots with stereos turned up all the way, neighbors being noisy and inconsiderate as well and one night there was even racing in the parking lot at 2 am. I live across from the pool and in the summer, the noise there is unbelievable. People at the pool will park their cars in front of the pool with their stereos blasting all day long on the weekends. It about drives me insane. I must say, though, that management has been very good at responding to noise problems, in their defense. Another complaint I have about the apartments are the parking spaces are ridiculously small and I have many dings on my car from inconsiderate neighbors. Some of the other postings mentioned maintenance people leaving their door unlocked; that has also happened to me once. A plus about this community is that it is very convenient to MARTA. I drive to the Dunwoody or Doraville Station every day for work.
