Let me say first off...The office staff is complete and utterly the worse that I have ever encountered, and now that-- is the manager, good lord. I honestly believe she leaves her heart, brain, emotions in that cold freezer when whe gets up in the morning. I would not like to have her job, ok maybe I would, you come in at 10am, you take an hour for lunch(close the office) and you leave at 6pm, oh yeah, and everytime you call to talk to someone all you get is voicemail. Does not sound like a bad gig to me. If you are thinking about or even considering Glenlake, go elsewhere. The staff does not tell you about the water bill when you sign your lease or even look at a unit. I am 1 person, and my water bill last month was $71. Ok, I have never, ever paid so much for water, sewer, trash, common lighting, bug control(WHAT A JOKE!!) and whatever else heartland decides to bill you for. If you are considering renting here, go to www.heartlandregionalpower.com and read what they are all about...in short, making the complex money by billing for the above listed things. The units are old, I believe they were built in the early 80's and you can tell. The cabinets in the--itchen are old, they are greasy, stained if you are lucky, they do not stick when you open them. The countertops in the--itchen are formica, they are stained, scratched and no matter how much you scrub, they do not come clean. It is funny when you move in, there is a card that says, White Glove checked, and signed by the manager and leasing agent(s). I don't--now what they consider to be clean, obviously not what I do. Now that I think about it, have you seen the managers car, I think if she washed the dirt off it would fall apart, so that should say something about her level of cleanliness. I am glad to be out of here soon, the reviews about the nicest complex in the area, nothing that wooded around...I suggest you go driving around and you will find newer, nicer units for the same amount of money in the area. Oh yeah, 1 last thing, if you are coming in to look at the apts, ask about the gates, ask what percentage of the time they are working, if they tell you more that 50% of the time, they are lying.

I agree with the respond! I have a lot of problems that are not been solved! and the worst thing is the attitude of the new managemnt. Maybe you are a lucky tenant without problems, but believe me when problems accure everthing is changed...

I agree: it sounds like you have chosen to overlook certain issues and that's definitely your right. However, it is difficult to overlook 30-40 millipedges crawling across your--itchen floor every morning. Did I mention that they crawl across the carpet and up the walls and in your drawers? That, my friend, is not expecting to be catered to. That is expecting to get "pest control" when you must pay for "pest control". You--now, the same way you pay for "common electric" on your water bill each month? I lived in ----- - the lovely terrace level. Your really nice management didn't offer my family another unit when we were overrun with critters for 6-9 months out of our lease. We all understood that we weren't getting hardwood floors and crown molding...but there are basic standards of living that are supposed to accompany rental property. BTW, we don't all just get on here to bash. Check out my glowing review of Spalding Crossing posted days ago.

I am a tenant at Glenlake also. First off, everyone who is complaining that they cannot get anything fixed should do some research and find out a few things such as, if you submit your issue in writing and the office does not address the issue, you can without rent until the problem is fixed, seriously, take some time and leave this site and go to google and find out your rights as a tenant. Also, I can honestly say I have had no problems since I moved in over 4 mos ago, everything works like it should, when and if I have a problem, I will post it here for everyone to see how it was handled. Remember you can get more help if you are nice. If you go in yelling, screaming, throwing a tantrum, than I am sure the Management is not going to respond very well. Here is an example. I have lived here for 4 mos and was told that remotes for the gate were on backorder. Finally, I went down to the office last week and guess what, they had some. Great I thought, now I don't have to stop and put in the code. Well, guess what...It is not working. I spoke to the lovely office personnel and was told that hey are aware of the issue and are waiting for the vendor to come out to fix the issue. So, until then, I will use the code. See, I do have a problem, however, by being nice, I found out what is happening and will continue to check in to see when it is fixed. Just remember it could be worse, you could have no place to live.

Hey -----!!! I am on the bottom floor and had millipedes crawling on my bed while I was sleeping for quite some time. I'm sure some of these people who are really "nice", posting "nice" comments might make the millipedes their pets. To the person who said "you could have no place to live", I like to be inside away from insects and if I didnt like it that way I might go live outside.

Hey tenant that is waiting for a new remote for the gate. Did you ever get one? Because I went down there every week for like 2 months and they finally told me that they weren't giving me one and that I'd have to basically break it open to replace the battery. Now that's customer service -NOT!

Not sure what the manager's car has to do with the apartments. Sounds like you might have some personal issues you need to address in person.
