I was looking at a place to rent closer to town than the suburbs and a friend from work said her fiance was at Hartford Place and was happy with it...Over a few months, I visited the complex and did a thorough inspection. I also send emails to those who had experience with them, and I was so glad I did!
The staff at the office was always late to show up to their hours, and upon two visits, water was flowing freely from the pipes underneath the main drive in. We had to wait for the salesperson to call for repairs before she would see us. Two weeks later, the same problem was there, but in different spots. Apparently the pipes are like sawdust and others' reviews said the water was off for days at a time.
We were shown an apartment that was a model and it was OK, but lacking in storage and lacking in anything that would resemble home....it was more like a dorm than an apartment.
They were asking 670 for a one bedroom and you can upgrade for additional 200 bucks.
The residents say that being on the first floor means you will have insects (ants, etc) and more likely to be robbed.
The recommendation was to be on the third floor to ensure the best circumstances but I did not want to haul my stuff to a third floor unit JUST for what should be STANDARD securite and pest control.
I heard that management was horrible and unresponsive at best, and upon confronting the sales person, she said of course people will trash the complex because they left on bad terms and those bad apples spoil a good reputation.
I can assure you that nothing good has been said about HP in two years. After my visit, the "positive" reviews showed up on this site, and I cannot say for sure, but would bet management submitted this...especially since both reviews came in at roughly the same period...
So, to let you know what I did, I checked around with friends and family and found a unit which was P E R F E C T for what I needed and at the SAME PRICE at HP...
I wish you the same luck, but if you choose to ignore my words of experience, then good luck to you...
