I have never in my life seen more people with the attitude of "what are you going to do for me'" and my personal favorite,"I deserve something for free because I said so."
I use to live in Hartford Place, but finished school and moved out of state. I, unlike many others, know that there are only so many maintenence workers. They cannot work 24/7. They get to problems as quickly as possible. Some problems are more important than others, and if yours isn't a REAL emergency, you will have to wait.
You know how you get your neighbors to NOT hang their nasty laundry outside, go knock on their door. Also write a letter to the front office every time you do so. That way they have PROOF of your complaints. If they don't stop, take their laundry and throw it in the dumpster. Hate it, but I know I surely didn't want to look at it.
Now we get to roaches... If a person is CLEAN, you really won't have a roach problem. Let us all remember that especially when living in the South, you WILL have to deal with bugs, especially roaches. They thrive there. Get over it, buy some Raid, and kill them already instead of whining like a lil kid.
Now for the actual apartments themselves... When I moved in, the complex didn't look anything like it did when I moved out! I mean that in a good way! They are remodeling and making improvements. That is more than I can say for whomever owned the property before. It really does say something about the company that owns Hartford if they are willing to invest back into it. Oh yeah, they are really spacious and have a really awesome floorplan. So hence why I stayed there.
Office staff - I never had a problem. Of course, I paid my rent on time and didn't give them any grief either. I also understood that it is not easy working with the general public. Why' Because of the attitudes that people have taken, as stated in the beginning of my review. My personal opinion, when you act disrespectfully and overall full of yourself, they should be able to pop that bubble you are living in and give you a piece of their mind.
Of course, that is just my opinion, take it for what it is worth. Once last thing, you want "perfection," buy a house!

I can agree that people DO need to do what they can to take care of their OWN living space where possible, and that whine/complain is not effective toward getting service. BUT, people should NOT have to call every week for two months to get something fixed !! Residents also can NOT just fix things like their own air conditioner units. In the summer of 2004, my apartment (MM6) was without a working A/C unit for over three months. The motor outside would come on...and use my electricity for 10 hours at a time... but there was never any COOL air, just circulating. I called the office almost every week for the first two months, and finally gave up, after it was obvious tht John the head of maint. was never going to have it fixed properly or replaced. He must figure that if the motor comes ON at all, then it must be working... I finally decided it was just time ot move out.
The -anon- message above sounds like it was written by the office themselves, just to balance ratings.
