I live at Hartford Place for almost 2 years. The management was changed when I lived here. They claimed the new company improves the apartments, but there are certain things that will never change. The only thing keeps me staying here is their rent is low. However, you get what you pay for. Here are some examples:
This place has many different bugs such as ants, roaches, big spiders, big crickets and even big slugs. Although they have pest control every Monday (if you request it), it doesn't help.
Two of my friends got break-ins during the day time. In fact, one break-in just happened a couple weeks ago. They have sliding glass windows for every apartment. It is a poor design for an ungated apartment complex in such an unsafe area. The police did patrol before they changed the management, but I haven't seen the police since then.
The noise is a big problem. The floors and walls between you and your neighbors are not built for noise isolation at all. You can hear the radio from your next door and the steps from upstairs.
Some staffs are friendly, but some are careless. Beside, from my personal experience, the staffs are not truly honest. It is understandable that they want to rent the worse apartments first or get the most profit for their company, but I believe this should be done in a more honest way.
I am glad my contract is up soon. Please think twice before you move.
