The key to living at Highland Ridge

If you must live at Highland Ridge do these things:
--Chose an apartment on the ground floor (garden level facing the creek). Your bedroom will be away from the parking lot where noisy neighbors loitor and litter.
--Don't hang out in the parking lots. You will miss the drug deals and garbage everywhere. The complex has made some strides to increase safety: bright lights and fencing off trouble areas, but they don't maintain it to the level they should. Lights burn out and are not fixed.
--Keep your apartment clean and the bugs will not take over.
The maintence staff is SUPERB. They were timely and competent. They tried their best to keep the property looking clean. It sucked to see them out there at 8 a.m. on Monday cleaning up the trash and garbage residents left.
The leasing office staff is the WORST. The turnover rate is high and the staff is a bunch of idiots. It's gone from terrible to bad, but it still sucks. You can look forward to notices of not paying rent on your door when you did pay, accounting mix ups and a general not giving a damn attitude about customer service.
The walls are thin. Just pray that you have a professional neighbor or nerd that doesn't like music or tv.
Enjoy living close to everything in the city. That's the only reason people stay as long as they do. They used to give these apartments away so they were affordable. But after the murder and riff raff, it's not even a good deal anymore. And they will raise your rent about 5% every year.
