OK for now...but it's changing

I moved from Archstone Clifton to Highland Square due to a mold issue in the ventilation system. Initially, I was EXTREMELY pleased with Highland Square. However, the management has recently changed (the same company that owns Highland Lake [think: one big fraternity house]) now owns Highland Square. Since the management change, they now allow co-signers, which means that ANY college student with Mom & Dad's signature can now live here. It used to be that you had to have a high enough income on your own...which meant that any students living here were also working quite a bit, which really made it more of a working professional's complex.
Now, out of the 12 apartments that are in my breezeway, HALF are occupied by undergraduate Emory students. The numbers are similar elsewhere in the complex. It is definitely more noisy- especially on the weekend. In the past 2 months alone, I've had to complain twice about loud music and voices past 1am. My roommate and I both get up early for work...and need our sleep.
Outside, the grounds are well trimmed. However, the pine straw has not been replaced in over 6 months...nor has grass been replanted in areas now bare by the summer's rain. It's quite muddy all the time. Also, the doggie poop stands could be changed more often, esp. in the heat of the summer. If you have to park near a full one...you'd smell what I mean :(
I live on the second floor...definitely can hear the people above me walking around, taking showers, doing laundry. However, I never hear the neighbors below or to the side. The ceilings are nice and high with crown moulding and ceiling paddle fans, and I love the fireplace.
Parking can be a bit tight sometimes, but nothing too bad. However, there are NO handicap spots at all (' federal violation '). The office staff are friendly, but often not in the office during 9-6 hours, which can be very frustrating, esp. if you are trying to get a package.
Overall, it's a decent place for the money. It's convenient for those of us that work for Emory, the CDC, etc. I will finish out my lease and then probably look for someplace else.
