A decent apartment for the price.

My year lease with Lakeshore Crossing Apartments is over, and though I will not be renewing my lease (mostly due to other circumstances), my stay (in a 2-bedroom with a roommate) at Lakeshore Crossing was comfortable.
Management: They do a nice job in my opinion. Whenever I've had a problem they usually get things taken care of within a day or so. Most of the problems I had were related to my gate remote malfunctioning. They also replaced our small and inefficient microwave upon request.
Maintenance: The two maintenance guys are always around, and will usually fix any problems the same day or a day later, depending on the severity of the issue. Our washing machine did break a week after we moved in (and flooded the kitchen), and was replaced shortly after. Toilet leaks, garbage disposal problems, and bug issues were all taken care of promptly.
Units: The units are a bit older, and it shows. The carpets, while cleaned before moving in, do show a lot of wear and a few stains reappeared after a while. The appliances are not top-notch, and the counters in the bathrooms are hard to clean due to the material they used. We rented a two bedroom, the size and layout are both nice. The vents in the bathroom must be connected to the kitchens above because I can always smell what the people above me are cooking (generally not appealing, I must say).
Parking/Grounds: Parking can be a hassle for a few reasons. If you come home late at night (past 11:00), you probably wont be able to park infront of your building. Also, many of the residents here have no concept of those white lines that define a parking space, and treat them as optional boundaries. The grounds and pool are pretty well kept.
Safety: There was a rash of car break-ins a few months ago, but the offenders were caught and the break-ins stopped. Car break-ins happen everywhere, so this wasn't really too surprising. There are a few cameras scattered about. The gates are often broken/malfunctioning, so I'm not sure they really do much as far as keeping people out.
Overall, Lakeshore Crossing is a good deal, and the location is extremely convenient, you are literally 1 minute from I-85. Plus the community is tucked away right behind a liquor store, what more can one ask for'
