Years at this apartment: 2008 - 2009
I live at Lakeshore now with my husband. We have an 800 sq ft. 1 bedroom on the 3rd floor, and have been very happy here for a year. Here is why:
Pros:
-I did an extensive search of all the apartments in the area, and this was the best price/sq ft that wasn't a wreckage site.
-Management is friendly & competent and always takes care of our needs within the same day or the next day.
-Maintenance guys are nice and give us updates and pointers. I had a leaky sink and they replaced the entire sink the next day.
-The pool is always clean
-The gym is sufficient
-If there are bug problems, they are taken care of quickly
-The location is amazing for our needs. We need to go downtown daily, which is only a 5-10 min. drive, and we are also not far from N. Atlanta, Buckhead, etc. Marietta isn't as big of a headache as it could be if we were further downtown, and everything you need: Organic Markets, Publix, Target, Home Deopt, Borders, Michaels, Movie theaters, Best Buy, cheap restaurants, etc. are all within 5 minutes of a drive from the Apt.
-the Marta stop is within walking distance
-Office has 2 computers w/internet that you can use M-F 9:00AM-10:00 PM, which I use almost daily.
-Management took a minor crime issue seriously and honestly did everything they could to warn their residents.
-I feel safe here.
Cons:
-I live on the 3rd floor so bugs aren't a big problem, but I do run into them in the summer. Gnats, Ants, and occasionally a silverfish, come into the apartment, but if you don't leave your food rotting in the open air, or just put a few ant traps on the porch, the problems aren't bad considering it's GA and an old apt. complex. If you put in a request, they will try to send bug sprayers to your apt as often as every week.
-Noise- Yes, you do hear the constant drone of the highwway at night, but we've grown used to it and don't even notice anymore.
- I hate, hate, hate all the sleazy things surrounding us like novelty shops, strip clubs, etc... we just try to pretend that they don't exist, but it can be embarassing when company comes over.
Overall, we are very happy here and plan on staying longer.
