I rented an apt from Lincoln Parc 2002-2004. At first, I thought that the place was nice. It needed some cosmetic work, but I figured with the friendliness of the staff, it would be completed in no time! Not! the apartment slowly fell apart and any maintenance calls that I made took forever to be completed. The apartment underwent a management change and my experience went from bad to worse. The new year (2004) brought mailbox breakins which several requests for new boxes and/or locks from both the mailperson and myself went ignored. I am in total agreement about the sorry way the trash was kept in the front of the complex and unfortunately the mailboxes were kept near the overflowing and stinky trash. A couple of times I was late with the rent and even after notifying the new management team, they still took it upon themselves to use their key, and violate my privacy by coming into my apartment to ask for rent money ( I worked nights so I would usually be asleep). I really didn't have a problem with the noise level, but the smells of my next door neighbors when they smoked or cooked were really annoying. I moved out on June 30th 2004 and still, after numerous phone calls, haven't received the refund from my security deposit. I wouldn't recommend the place unless it underwent a serious change in management.
