I have very much enjoyed my stay with Rivercrest. The floor plan I have is huge, I have a condo style apartment with no one above or below me and the insulation is good enough here I never hear my neighbor. That being said, there have been problems from day one. It was dirty when I moved in. They did a terrible job with the paint slopping it everywhere and using cheap flat paint that has started to turn different colors. The handles on the faucets were all broken, loose or coroded. The tub was rusty. The tile in the bathroom broken and paint splattered. Old carpet that wasnt replaced when I moved in. The linoleum a mess! From day one there was an electrical burn that had scortched the exterior of my unit and after 9 months of requesting it at least painted, I bought paint and did it myself. There is still termite damage thats about to collapse the wall to my fireplace (there STILL from 3 years ago) and remains unfixed. There are water problems ALL the time, at least once a week they turn it off ALL day and any time there is a storm the power goes out. But despite it all I LOVED living here. It has been home. Some of the repairs I did myself, some the maintenence department. Either way, I made it my own. Thats when a list of strange things started to happen. We got a new leasing staff. Formerly cooperative and quick, now gives new meaning to the words Difficult and Sloth. Major repair requests went unanswered...no AC in June' I waited 3 days! The neighborhood that was once classy turned seedy and the neighbors went from being classy to trashy. Lots of loitering, loud music, and creative double parking. I started feeling unsafe. Then the icing on the cake. When my rent bill came up this month, a little 60 day non renewal notice came with it. Apparently when they are starting renovations on our apartments to upgrade the property to the level it should have been to begin with, we arent permitted to stay. Quite frankly we are being asked to leave. I asked the leasing staff what if any arrangements were being made for the people that wanted to stay with the property. Apparently if I want to completely move to another appartment and stay there for 3 months under a new contract while renovations are underway, then in the event MY apartment hasnt been rented by someone else then I am more than welcome to move back in at twice the rent I was paying before. Needless to say, Im sad at what has happend here. Rivercrest was a community, now its not only lost its best residents, its lost its heart. Big dollars to live in what is essentially the ghetto' Trust me, dont move here.
