Bad management is just the start

The management is a JOKE! There have been 5 different GMs since I have lived here (almost 2 years). My maintenance requests have never been answered in a timely manor, right from the start. It takes 7-8 calls or office visits to get anything done. When I first moved in, they assured me a brand new renovated apartment. Only they neglected to tell me that someone had already lived in this renovated apartment with 2 dogs and a cat. I'm not even sure they cleaned the carpet before I moved in... The entire apt smelled like animal urine and the carpet was scratched up in multiple places. Only after complaining for WEEKS that I couldn't even put my 3 month old son down on the carpet they said they would replace it. The carpet people showed up unannounced and completely tore my apartment apart! They unloaded my bookshelves and moved my furniture and didn't put anything back. My dining room table was in the bedroom, couches in the kitchen, etc. I AM A SINGLE MOM! I could not move these things on my own, not to mention the fact that I was all moved in and unpacked and then it looked like a tornado came through. Management was not even apologetic. Fact is, it should have been replaced before I moved in... It was DISGUSTING! This is only the start of the drama I have been through with them. The neighbors are OK, if not creepy. The ones downstairs from me empty their litter box on the grass out front so that my toddler can run through it... VERY thoughtful. insulation is TERRIBLE! You are FREEZING in the winter and your electric bill is still 300 dollars. Don't be fooled by the renovations and riverfront community BS.. These are OLD and crappy apartments. And they are VERY overpriced. When I had to go to a month to month lease, they gave me a ridiculously high price, which I paid because I had no other option. Then the next month they told me that they had given me the wrong price and I owed an additional $200 on top of the already inflated rate for that month and the previous month. It didn't matter that they had told me the wrong thing, my account was delinquent unless I paid it. As far as the office staff goes, they are all incompetent, except for LeRoy. He is understanding but not very organized.
