I've lived here for almost a year and cannot wait to move out! The cons far outweigh the pro's! The staff and maintenance have been attentive to my needs, but the complex is too noisy and very unsafe.
At night, it sounds like "Compound" (the club) is in my living room from all the cars on the street. I wake up at about 3 in the morning a few times a week to a crackhead screaming outside! Also, I do not feel safe at all!! I have had atleast 6 notices of car break-ins and about 2 weeks ago a notice of an armed robbery in my complex! There used to be a security guard driving around in a golf-cart at all times, what happened to him' For what I am paying, there should be 24 hour security! This summer, there was a forced entry in my apartment as well. I've heard several sets of gunshots, about 6-7 times since i've lived here. Once, it sounded like it was accross the street!! The gates seem to always be broken and left open.
A couple months ago, my friend and I were at my front door and sighted a women who was abucted by a homeless man who entered her car stopped at the intersection of Northside and Marietta St.- which is right in front of M Street.
Granted, the area seems to be in a good bit of a transition, BUT surprisingly the crime seems to be getting worse!!! If you are concerned about your safety and do not want to be around crackheads every time you go to your home, do not live here!
