When I moved in 4 years ago they had just finished the building I was living in - great place for great price - at the time. Some of the older post talk about the crime being an issue but seriously if you want to leave a tv over night in your car and it not be gone in the morning then don't move to a transitional area that is a half mile or less from Bankhead Highway. The walls are kind of thin and if the neighbor above you feels the need to sing opera you are going to hear it. Oh and the maintenance guy is going to park his 2 cars (even though the lease says they only provide space for 1 car per tenant) in the parking spaces closest to the building and then use his motorcycle to block a spot when he leaves so nobody takes "his spots". Having stayed through all of that due to the convenient location and my just general distaste for moving I finally got out of there this year because when you are seeing video of armed robbery suspects driving out the busted gate of your apartment complex (the gate had been propped open for a good 2 weeks at that time) on the 11pm news and hearing gun shots in the hallways at 7:30 in the evening it's time to find a new place to live. It's really a shame because just when the area is finally starting to come to life one of West Midtown's pioneering apartment complexes is becoming too unsafe to live in. Glad I got out when I did.
