Post Once Set The Standard - Times Change

Post Woods seemed a nice place to live at first. Grounds are nicely landscaped well kept. The rent was about 15% overvalued by sq' for the area, especially considering the lack of interior amenities and out-dated appliances, but I knew that going in. It soon became evident that the buildings themselves have not been well maintained and have serious plumbing (pipe breaking) issues. After the second of two floods in a year I was told it would be three days before my apartment would be habitable. Management wanted to assume no responsibility for loss of use, no rent credit, temp living arrangement, nothing. "That's what renters insurance is for" I was told (for which I pay the premium and deductible). After much argument and insistence on my part, they did get the repairs done the same day, but their preference was to make it my problem. Other more minor issues as well, but that was the one that showed their stripes.

Then comes renewal time, the rent increase, huge. You expect the usual 3%-5% annual nuisance increase but 12% is just being greedy.

Their natural gas billing company, Infinite Energy, pays the gas bill, adds a fee and bills you. It's 5.95 a month for the privilege of paying your bill. The call it a Customer Service Fee I could live with it better if it was called a Billing Fee or maybe a Profit Add-on. I wouldnt be surprised if they are inflating the gas price as well. My final bill covering only a few days was $20.98, of which only $.97 was gas, the rest was fees and charges. In my opinion, rebilling utilities for profit ought to be illegal. I wonder how much is kicked back to Post.

Then there is the water and CAM bill you get from Post every month (which also comes with its own additional fee). After moving out I receive the final bill. Six days later I receive a letter (dated 9 days after the bill was mailed) from Frances Lodge who apparently is a collection agent for Post demanding payment plus 16% interest. The #%&**$s had turned me over to collection in NINE DAYS!!! (I should be noted that I had no history of late payments, always early).

I dont typically write reviews, but this was the icing on the cake as to just how unreasonable this company is to deal with. Post used to be the company the others would strive to be like, my how times have changed!
