Nice place...but Paint inside the lines !!

First of all, I do want to say that Post Woods is a lovely community. I moved to Post Woods on September 30th 2006 (Now about 6 months ago). Well, technically I "moved in" on August 26th in order to hold the apartment I wanted and it sat empty for a month.
The staff do work hard to keep the place looking nice. Yes, the buildings date back to the early 1980's, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The construction is good, noise from neighbors is almost non-existent and they were able to space the buildings out more back then - alongside now "Mature" landscape it gives the whole Post Woods complex a park-like feel rather than cramming one tall building right next to another with some minor shrubbery to break up the monotony.
Let's face it. Some of us are neater than others and the management has to rule in a consistent and fair manner so as to preserve an expected quality of life. You'll get the occassional general reminder notice on your door about either not doing X or Y (Given out to the whole complex), but that's usually because some slob has all of his crap out on his balcony or something and they are trying to "gently" remind everyone where the boundaries are.
So, that's the "Good", and just to prove I'm not some Post Woods Mgmt spy, I'm going to rant a bit too...
I am a relocation from New York and had my furniture sent on ahead of me and I was driving my SUV and some "Delicate / Valuable" posessions down myself. I left New York on Friday, September 29th and hit more traffic than expected. Originally I had planned on making it to Post Woods around 2 or 3 pm on Saturday the 30th and just start unpacking. With the unforeseen delay I realized that I'd not make it to Post Woods before the office closed at 5pm so called them from the road with my cell phone and I asked how we could arrange for me to get in. I was told in no uncertain terms that they would NOT leave a key for me and that I KNEW what the office hours were. If I didn't make it I'd have to wait until they re-opened on Monday. Keep in mind I'd been paying for this apartment - EMPTY for over a month already and they never mailed anything to me so I assumed a weekend move was no big deal. That they could leave a key in some after hours box or something. Basically, if I didn't make it I'd be trying to find a hotel for me, my girlfriend and dog for 2 nights...with no reservations...in Atlanta. Good luck !!
Well, luckily I knew someone from my office who'd mentioned he lived there and after several frantic calls I managed to get his cell number and he agreed to get the key, but by this time it was 4:30 pm and he was 1/2 an hour away in Alparetta, car shopping. I asked mgmt that if he was late a few minutes could they wait or maybe put the key in HIS apartment and they REFUSED that reasonable request too !! Luckily my friend made record time (I don't want to know how fast he must have been driving) but he made it and I arrived at 7 pm - thankful to my friend and very annoyed with the Post Woods mgmt.
This "Paint inside the lines no matter what" is a bit tiring, but I guess with the good comes the bad. I just wish that they had either the lattitude or brains to use discretion and be adventurous and paint outside the lines when the Mona Lisa's lips are on her forehead !!
Thanks.
