Expectations shattered

I was so excited to move into this place two years ago. After moving in all my excitement began to dwindle away. The floors are way too thin. You can hear everything your upstairs neighbor is doing. Crime notices were a constant. The cable company that they have contracted with is a third party and is a real joke. The security gate almost came down on my truck three times. I agree with the other tenants, the management crew is really bad and very rude, with the exception of one young lady that I often spoke to. The biggest disappointment came when I moved out. They charged me for everything that they will need for normal maintenance and repair that will be needed in order to get the place ready for a new renter. 87.00 to clean a stove' and 1300 to replace carpet' They even charged me money for the place to be repainted. Now mind you the move out notice said when you move out the apartment will need to be clean and can show normal wear and tear. Clearly would like to know what their definition of wear and tear is, as we cleaned that place from top to bottom. But, the lesson I have learned is that my expectations of them were way too high. They definitely did not deliver the living experience they advertise. I will never recommend this place to anyone.

1300 to replace carpet sounds extremely unreasonable. Have you spoken to an attorney about this? I can't imagine that it would cost more than $500 max to replace carpet in a 2 bedroom apartment. I am very surprised that no one else has ever mentioned this.

No I have not spoken to an attorney. Reason being that it will cost me more money to pay attorney and go to small claims court, than to pay the 1409 toatal that they are expecting me to pay.I agree with you. This is way too much money. I know for a fact that they should be replacing the carpet anyway since it has been down for more that 2 years. Not sure why I must pay for them to paint, as this should be part of the prep work needed for new renter. I believe that when you do wrong it will follow, so I get real satisfaction when I read the comments that I have been reading. I see that everyone has the same complaint. My bill is due in a couple of days. I still am trying to figure out if I want to call the office as I know they will not be attentive to my concerns. One more note, per the letter I received they will send me to collections if bill is not paid in 30 days
