It is true what the last two reviews said about crime, it has gone way up since I moved in. The fact that that woman was raped, while moving in, in the middle of the day is undeniable considering it was all over the news. In addition, don t think that these have just been isolated incidents confided within the rarely working gates of this community. Crime, especially violent crime, is on the up in the area ranging from armed robberies to stabbings. Upkeep in another issue, while the landscaping is admittedly very nice (what little there is), the apartments themselves are not. The model they may show you seems more than acceptable but isn t what you are actually moving into. The ceilings had discolorations from water damage, the flooring is peeling faux wood laminate, bugs are everywhere no matter what floor you are on, and they have painted over everything so many times that it is starting to flake and peel. Every time my neighbor above me cleans his bathroom floor it leaks through the ceiling vent in my bathroom. Speaking of, if you don t care to hear what your neighbor is up to you need to live on the top floor and keep your bedroom away from the stairs. The street noise around here is much more than I expected. It is at least once a night that some kind of emergency vehicle goes screaming down Briarcliff. On the plus side the handyman is a very nice guy and seems very busy. When an apartment water main broke the other day shutting the water off for almost an entire day I couldn t imagine how much more work that probably put on his plate. There are plenty of nicer places and areas to live in Atlanta, there are even nicer places to live on this same street. I would encourage anyone considering on living here to put this place on the bottom of your list.
