Not a good property to stay at especially if you are new to town.

Before I begin the "Meadowglen Village" bashing, let me say I am appreciative of them giving me my 1st start here in the Atlanta area. I came down here on a "hope and a prayer" trying to make Atlanta GA my new home - they gave me the housing opportunity that I needed at the time for an affordable price. As with any business relationship sometimes factors beyond or within either parties control will utimately end the arrangement between the two. I have read and do agree with some of the comments in the previous reviews written by previous Meadowglen residents. The condition of buildings and grounds would not award this property a 5 point star rating; however, management has made an effort to keep the residents from loitering the public areas with their trash by threaten to issue fines to individuals caught in the act. I say good luck with using this method to catch the perpetrators! In regards to the prospective residents that sign leases to stay at Meadowglen, I believe the property should use a better screening process such as a thorough background check of individuals before assigning them an unit or renovate the property and charge higher monthly rents like other properties in the area to weed out drama causing individuals. (I am leaving to go to a more expensive property because of its cosmetic look inside/outside the unit and the level of safety is greater there.) Also, the maintenace team is very slow or do the bare minimum to resolve my unit/building issues. After reporting a problem with the laundry machines in front of my unit, 6 months later they started emitting a heavy smoke. The local fire department knocked down my door because they thought the smoke was coming from my unit. My neighbor, the property security guards, and myself had to verbally convince a maintenace personnel to repair my door that evening so I would not be vulnerable to theft or anything of that nature during the night. This situation would have never had happened had management replace the machines before they started emitting smoke. This is just 1 example out of many others where maintenance was not willing to resolve issues or sluggish to do so. During my lease period, there has been shootings, thefts, muggings, and other criminal activities to occur at this property; therefore, I am leaving when my lease is up. Overall, I would say my stay at Meadowglen Village was bittersweet - I had met nice individuals but I witnessed and experienced negativity as well.
Future resident, if you planning to move in this unit these are some of the situations I had experienced during my stay. Your cheaper rent is reflecting the condition of the property and its problems with residents, guests, management, and maintenance. So be forewarn and good luck!
