WAY-overpriced, old, no extras!!

Years at this apartment: 1995 - 2005
This was a lovely place when we first moved in, lots of willows and flowers, and a caring staff. I have been here since the early '90s and this place was not new THEN. Lately the mgr of the month doesn't seem to care about our issues. Here is what we have put up with the last few years: leaking roof that leaks into fireplace, causing wall and ceiling stains and peeling sheet rock; dip in sidewalk outside front door fills with muddy water every time it rains, so we have to remove shoes, roll up pant legs, and wade thru; flooding continues into parking lot and over at the mail station---notice the sign warnig of flooding, probably easier to erect a sign than to fix the problem; my ceiling fell in during Jan rain, causing giant hole in ceiling over fireplace and wet sheetrock all over the living room and our belongings. Mgr never came up to look. Took 2 wks to fix, during which we could not use our cable or fireplace and heat went up the hole. The repair does not match the rest of the ceiling and is an ugly and constant reminder of what happened. We have heard animals running in the ceiling late at night. Security lights around my bldg have been out for weeks. The wooded view we pay extra for has been cut back so drastically we now have a clear view of the parking lot behind the Roswell Rd porno shop, which means I no longer use the deck because the patrons of the porno store have a clear view into my living room. I asked in Jan if they would replace the missing section of privacy fence and 3 mos later nothing has been done. The police were on my cul-de-sac TWICE last week for unrelated issues, the second time while I was trying to leave for work at 6am and the squad cars had the cul-de-sac pinned in while they detained a group of guys. We always hear talking or music coming from below or next door. Half of my bldg has been vacant over a year. Now my lease is almost up, and they want to increase my rent by $25.00/mo, putting it OVER $1000, which is pretty nervy of them and hardly considerate of a longtime resident. I have been looking at much newer apts right around here, all have controlled access, fireplaces, fitness centers, new kitchens, garden tubs, free use of computer in clubhouse, ceiling fans in both bedrooms AND living room, and pools that are open most or ALL year round, and EVERY ONE of these newer apts is less than $1000. So why would I want to continue living here, pay over $1000, when any vandal can drive right in, I pay for a porno shop view, I can't use the pool in Sept (I've been told to DRIVE over to the sister property to use THEIR pool, then drive back in a wet swimsuit!) and there's no fitness center'' That's not a good value and it's too bad, because they are roomy, but then so are the newer, less-expensive apts around here. A word to the wise: check out the GBI website to see which of my neighbors are convicted felons on parole. Let me outtahere!!
