Please don't move in here

I just read the posting from the guy who lived here 10 years. I have been here 5 years and am moving at the end of my lease. I laughed as I reached the end of his summary as I thought I was the only person who bothered to check the GBI site and know that a convicted (registered) felon lived in the neighborhood. Aside from that, I have two separate families living in the unit below mine (4 adults and 2 children) and management is not enforcing their own occupancy rules. The same neighbors violated Fulton County (and Sandy Springs) regulations on use of grills in multi-family dwellings. The maintenance supervisor stopped by to check on the 2 foot high flames and did not make them move the grill since they invited him to come back to eat when they were done. I have endured two sets of neighbors who were smokers and not only did their smoke drift into my home when they were on the deck, but my laundry room and guest bath constantly smelled like a bar because they smoked in the bathroom and all the vents are connected. Every weekend, one set of neighbors has guest over and parties. The following day, trash is left on the bushes and beer bottles litter the parking lot. Yet management seems to prefer such tenants over those of us who are quiet, who do not litter the grounds, who pay our rent on time, and who work for a living. Parking is an issue because one apartment can have as many as four cars taking up spaces due to managements lack of desire to enforce their own occupancy limits. Former upstairs neighbors had a 120 lb dog (80 pounds over limit) who not only stomped on my ceiling but constantly barked when left alone. Management's answer' - keep sending them warning to get rid of the dog. I ended up with fleas in my house because of their dog (I have no pets). The fleas came down through the slats in the deck onto my deck and ultimately into my home when I walked a blanket to the laundry from my deck. It took me months to get rid of the fleas. In my five years, I have endured multiple water issues that management does not address promptly. One labor day weekend, the upstairs neighbors moved out and left the water on in the laundry room. My ceiling fell in. One unresolved issue turned into a mold issue and management did not address that (despite repeated requests) until I called Sandy Springs code enforcement. Management enters your home AT WILL with no notice. I had one of their maintenance staff use the key to unlock my door WHILE I WAS HOME! I have pictures of the condition my hot water heater was left in (ventilation pipe not reattached, screws not inserted) after one maintenance repair. When my HVAC had to be replaced, maintenance did not cover the carpet and I have lived with a rust colored stain in my entry hall ever since. The only good thing about this neighborhood is the size of the rooms. I quickly found a new place (in one day after the decision not to renew) at a cheaper rate, only 10 years old, gated community, and no felons in the neighborhood. Please do yourself a favor and do not move in here. I have letters and pictures I could send you to show you what I have endured.

If someone went through this much living at an apartment complex for 5 YEARS why not move? Is it really that bad or is there some exaggeration there?

whoever this is, is just bitter and mad, and probably unemployed. B/C as u stated it took u 1 day to find another apt, you couldve found that apt 4 years ago if your stay was that damn bad...As easy as it is to get a damn apt in ATL then why would you stay somewhere for so long as u did and be unhappy? It just doesnt make sense!!!
