First, the good. The price is right. The location is right. The grounds are well kept. The old buildings have more charm than the cookie cutter apartments built these days. It's a fairly diverse complex and most of your neighbors are pretty friendly.
Now, then... My apartment has flooded three times in 20 months. The leasing office has not been responsive. The walls are solid concrete, so it's impossible to hear your next door neighbors; however, the floors and ceilings have about as much sound insulation capacity as papier-mache. You can hear your upstairs neighbors at normal conversation level. The cabinetry is very cheap. Mine are falling apart. Insulation is poor and heaters and a/c are old and inefficient, so your utilities will be high. Maintenance usually responds in a timely manner, though the quality of workmanship is not great. There are no door sweeps on the front door, so bugs can crawl right in.
Bottom line: You could do a lot better, but not for the price.
