I've had enough

Well I'm glad to see I'm not the only person who has multiple issues with this apartment complex, mostly stemming back to management that lies.

I've lived here for 3 years. Here are the positive aspects:
-My apartment is HUGE for a 1-bedroom. If I could pick up the actual unit and move it to another part of the city, I'd do it in a heartbead.
-Rent is cheap. Now I know why!

Here are my issues:
I was a student when I moved in and was told that a lot of other student and young people lived there. By "studnets" they mean school-aged children. The tenants have just gotten sketchier ever since (I got new neighbors a few weeks ago when they moved in at 11:00 PM on a weeknight!).

The day after I moved in, my bedroom celing started to leak (right above my bed). It took about a week for the problem to finally get fixed, after the leak had worn a hole in the celing.

About a year and a half ago someone came in and replaced a filter, but damaged the paint on the living room celing from removing the vent cover, and there's been a hole there ever since.

I came home one evening and smelled what I only thought could have been a dead body. It was a dead rat in the unit below mine.

A mouse made its way into my trash can. I got cats as pets, not as pest control.

Management LIES! One example: One morning last summer, my key broke in my lock. I called the office for an hour with no answer. I paged maintenance (including at least one "911" page) for an hour with no answer. When I finally walked to the office in the pouring rain, the manager and 2 maintenance guys were in there and said they'd been answering the phone all morning (which was obviously a lie) and they hadn't recieved any pages since the night before (check the battery!). At least I got my lock fixed and wasn't charged. But I was an hour and a half late to work.

My ice maker has never produced a single cube of ice in 3 years.

Loud neighbors leaving the vestiblue door open all the time, having fiestas every day, and having to listen to their screaming children at all hours, but they prefer Sunday mornings (use condoms, folks!)

BUGS! Every time I open a drawer in my kitchen, a bug scampers away. Traps and Raid do not help (but sometimes cats do... refer to mouse comment).

The gates have probably worked for a grand total of about 2 months in the 3 years I've lived there. The back gates are open 24/7. My friend wouldn't come here late at night to check in on my cats when I was out of town! How is this supposed to be considered safe'

The gym equipment is broken and unsafe. If you want to use the weight machines, you have to bring your own SCREWDRIVER because the pins walk out as soon as they're replaced.

Of course, I could go on, but basically this place is guilty of some major false advertising, in that they advertise (and residents pay) for ammenities that are not available. They lie about working gates, a usable fitness center, safety, friendly community... I can't wait to leave!
