Great to look at, bad to live in.

The place truly looks amazing but once you start to live there, you realize you've made a mistake. I can hear one neighbor's answering machine every time it picks up (by the way, sweetie, your dry cleaning is ready), and I can hear my other neighbor's computer noises ("You've got mail" and "Goodbye"). Insulation and soundproofing are weak to say the least, if even existent. Power bill is over $200 in the summer (for a 2-br apt!) due to poor insulation, and one bedroom is freezing while the other is hot during the winter. Water heaters are poorly installed and therefore make a horrible screaching sound every 10-15 minutes. Air vents pop when the wind blows. Parking is non-existent, so let your guests know. Here's the worst: had a fire in the basement complete with fire department and police. Clincher: fire alarm never went off. I stood on my porch and conversed with neighbors while watching the whole thing. Safety obviously not their #1 priority. Also, it is ridiculous that a pet deposit is $500 NONrefundable.
