I recently moved out after two years and the entire experience was horrific. Between the roaches and the constant need for police it became unbearable. I do believe there is a civil suit on the way and many people will be paid. I had two break ins, the security guards sell dope at the gate and pay no attention when you flag them down because someone just rammed their car into the mailboxes. My friends, whom I encouraged to live there, experienced a fire in the upper unit and have been dealing with no heat or air, feeces dropping from their ceiling and light fictures that will never be repaired, for they have not been in the last year. Another friend has to put all of her food in her dinning room for fear that the roaches will devour her kitchen. Another friend has know been broken into three times and management is attempting to convince her it is a mouse and not their incompetent and deliquent staff. I also heard that this property is actually owned by the city of DeKalb and not Gables which explains the enormous differance between every other Gables communtiy and the one we reside in. If you enjoy hearing scratching at night, your neighbor beating the heck out of his wife, loud music, sleeping with roaches, the police visiting nightly, management coming from maintenance positions, drugs being forced and sold daily by employees then this is the place to live. Otherwise, please run!!!!!!
