My unit was burgalarized January 2008!!! We have had at least 17 noise complaints on the tenants upstairs and little assistance with enforcing the "right to quiet enjoyment clause" by the manager- ------. We also received a very cavalier attitude regarding the break-in. We didn't hear an "I am sorry we will increase security precautions", heck the other residents have not even recv'd a letter yet and this happened over the weekend. I was told by my neighbor that there have been 3 break-ins of an apartment downstairs from her and they would only move the residents to an apartment closer to the office. Dekalb Police raided a unit in the same building as me and arrested a tennant there, this all in front of the elementary students being picked up for school one morning, including my child. Residents don't get property notification of safety threats in the community (ie..car thefts, break-ins,suspicious persons), and when you speak with ------ (Manager) she is very blaise' about your concerns. --------- was a wonderful girl who worked in the office, she is no longer there. I have been here since 1st qtr 2007 and will be moving as soon as my lease term is over if not sooner. Since I have lived here I will agree that the property appears to be really nice from the outside, but its what they don't tell you and what you don't know that is frightening. There is a serious darkside to this community. Before moving here please call Dekalb County's central statistics office and ask for burgalary/theft statistics on this complex before moving in, I sure wish I had. I completely agree! I have experienced the same exact thing at Parkway Vista. The community looks as if it is well kept and very safe, when in actuality once I moved there I was afraid to leave the house at night. The communty is not patrolled, the walk in gate is accessible to any and everyone as it is almost never locked, and the surrounding neighborhoods are the worst! When my apartment was broken into I never received an apology or anything either. They had an attitude with me as if I was the one who broke into my own house. As far as the noise complaints.. they go in one ear and out the other because nothing is ever done about it.
