Parkwood has went down hill in the last month. I am very glad that I am moving this weekend. Anyway, about Parkwood Place, the gate never works. Management put a tarp over the guest call box saying it is temporarily out of order. It has been in this condition for over a week and 1/2. However, I can see why. This week, we received a notice saying that the fire marshall had declared a part of our building unsafe, that it may collapse. The area was roped off and some workers hammered away the next day. Do I feel safer' No. How did they fix a sagging concrete walkway with hammers and wood. Will it not fall'
The biggest problem I have with the gate never working is that I paid a $100 NON-REFUNDABLE fee for a gate remote that I can never use. I am complaining when I turn in my keys. $100 is a lot to pay for nothing. Another thing is that apparently one of the pipes in the car wash is busted. So, after getting my ass up bright and early to wash my car, I couldn?t. Management never informs the residents of anything unless they are penalized or cited by the city. They could have at least put a sign up at the car wash noting that it was out of order. No respect.
Well, who knows what kind of catastrophes will occur after I move out of this horribly managed apartment complex. All I know is that they had some morgage company looking at the property yesterday. Maybe, for the sake of the people who are tenants, they will sale the property. But, they may just be refinancing. Who knows'
Just to note, here is the passage I left a month ago.
This complex is very quiet. As of now, February 2002, the complex is now Parkwood Place and not a Post Property. There are several good and bad things about this complex. First of all, I wanted to say we got a great price because they were running specials when we rented.
The apartments are in good condition and the complex is newer than most. There is one pool and a workout room. During the summer there was a problem with the pool. When we went to swim there was a sign up noting that the county had closed it due to not meeting regulations.
The prices are fairly high here. But, you get a great apartment. The complex is small so it is hard to move to a different apartment.
The people in the office sometimes don?t get everything just right, so you have to double check their work (lease, rent pmt, etc.).
The maintainence is timely and efficient.
The appliances are fairly new.
Sometimes tenants do things they shouldn?t and management doesn?t enforce the rules/regulations. Examples are: People park in handicapped parking without begin handicapped and mgmt doesn?t call the police to have a ticket written. Cars are parked in the car cleaning area for days without being moved and mgmt doesn?t have it towed at owners expense. People let their animals poop in front of our porch and don?t clean it up (VERY STINKY, enough that it would ruin our evening enjoying the serenity and rocking in our chairs outside).
Overall, it is a good place.
